I am talking not just prime but healthy Chuck Lindell who has the experience but also the chin and power that he did possess in his prime. I ask because you see in the heavyweight division the relevance of strikers and powerful dudes.

People forget that Chuck does have wrestling experience and was a kickboxer from the karate style of Keoi-kan karate that is similar to shootboxing and san shou ( stand up with throws/takedowns)

So naturally he does have stand up grappling skills and you don't see too many ground grappling specialist in modern MMA like you did in the past let alone the LHW.

He'd be the number 2 guy after Jones.

I think Prime Chuck, with a steal chin...he would be top 5 for sure, but he would not get through Jones or DC

Even in his prime any half decent counter striker of the last 5 years would be a favorite. The overall skill set of everyone in the sport is miles ahead of where it was when he was relevant

Chuck in his prime was a bad man. He would be at the top of the division without a doubt. I would actually give him a great chance to beat Jones. Styles make fights. His defensive wrestling, durability, and power give him a great chance against anybody. He was that guy that was knocking guys out that had never been knocked out before. He fought most of the top guys from his era and had a damn good record when it was all said and done.

I don’t think Chuck Liddell beats Jon Jones. I think he wrecks DC though. If you look at Chuck’s big winning streak between the 2 Rampage Jackson fights, the entire run was destroying one grappler after another. Prime UFC Champion Chuck defending his belt, murdered every grappler put in front of him.

I know Chuck was schooled in the first Randy Couture fight, but he learned from that loss. Has there ever been a time anyone was even able to so much as take him down after that?
