how far in the rankings did prime Shannon reach? Like when he was in his late 20s

Shannon actually became the linear champ by beating an old George Foreman. He got knocked out on the way up and was labeled a quitter but gutted it out on his way to being stopped by Lennox Lewis and gained some redemption. He was never a HoF type fighter but will have his name in the history books. He's sort of a Zab Judah in that between the big fights his opponents were basically night shift security guards nowhere to be found in the rankings. That he's chasing a championship fight competing against old overweight MW's is a joke. His I'll follow the champ around and say I'm the champ shtick has grown old. He needs to fight a contender to earn a money fight or just retire.how far in the rankings did prime Shannon reach? Like when he was in his late 20s

I remember when Briggs was coming up and people were convinced he was the real deal, no pun intended. Then he got upset by a nobody and no one ever really jumped on his bandwagon again.
He was just a big puncher. He was a guy who could change a fight with one shot. Aside from that, he was not especially talented.
