Aldo, leg kicks, Gomi was a boxer and not that good.

Aside from Fedor and GSP, Prime Aldo is the best the sport has ever seen.

Other fighters have been more dramatic and spectacular, but none have been better all-round cagefighters.

DJ and Jones come close in terms of completeness, but FW is one of the deepest divisions in the sport and 125 and LHW are both at the shallower ends of the bell curve, so it's not really apples to apples to compare their performances.

Gomi used to have a good top game and speed on the feet, but mainly boxed, sometimes threw knees. Worked with the speed, but Aldo (prime) would be faster and more versatile on the feet. He'd win a decision. Gomi had a good chin.

Aldo’s a lot more polished so I’d go with him. Gomi in his prime had a fucking monster chin though.

Huge fan of both, and Gomi definitely has a chance with his crushing punches and monster chin. If my life was on the line I'd go with Aldo though.

Gomi destroys him. He started fighting well before Aldo. Everybody knows that if someone fought before another fighter did than they are better than the newer fighter.

Tough fight. Gomi's boxing was as good as Aldo's at their peak imo. Both had amazing chins too. Since Gomi's wrestling probably isn't good enough to take Aldo down (even with the size advantage) I'd bet on Aldo winning the later rounds after the leg kicks take their toll. The first rounds would be competitive but Aldo would take the decision.

What the fuck are you guys talking about? Gomi was an absolute savage in his prime. Aldo would get one taste of his power and turn into a panic brawler, and no one can brawl with prime Gomi outside of high Nick Diaz. I mean for sucks sake, Aldo couldn’t even last 13 seconds with Conor. Gomi even now would last atleast twice as long as that vs Conor.
