First of all, I wish Francis the best. With whatever direction he chooses to go from this point, I hope he is happy, feels valued and makes bank.

Now that we have the fluff out the way... What the fuck??
As Ngannou leaves , that's coincidentally when Cyril Jones gets announced? You've gotta be kidding. That's a good matchup but every single one of us wanted a Jones X Francis fight .

We've been talking about this shit forever. Brutal

If Jones wins, Francis will be available for a one fight massive deal fo sho.

The strangest part is Francis' departure. Howich money did they really offer him?

Do yall really think Jones wasn't willing to fight Francis? Just asking from a neutral curiosity

Jones all of sudden is ready for ufc HWs. Cause Cereal Gain has no wrestling defense and Francis won’t fight in ufc aGane

I believe Jones was happy to fight Francis, it was Francis who wouldn't sign on and UFC were offering millions.

Francis himself said he left $7million on the table his last two fights by not resigning so considering he was being paid 500k probably $4m a fight.

I didn’t think Jones was ever going to actually do it. It is annoying how Frank held up the division just to leave anyways.

Jones has no spine bud. It’s pretty crazy how a championship level fighter can seemingly have no balls like that, from fleeing scenes of accidents, to hitting his wife, and cheating over and over again in his job, Jon just has no morals

I like Cyril but he’s absolutely tailor made for Jon.. and again, Jon waits for scary Francis to vacate before moving up for a sparring match with Cyril.

For all the crap this guys put the fans through, put his family through, this is what he gets as a result. Walks back into a title fight after like 5 years away, with a lay up fight. People call this guy the goat….

That was leverage for him against his (now former) employer at the negotiation table. Given the position in which he was and knowing how he was not satisfied with how much he made (rightfully so), it’s hard to blame him. And it’s not like the UFC didn’t try to show him that they could move on from him right in his face with an interim title fight (Gane vs Lewis) earlier on.

What’s really annoying here is how the greed of the biggest org in MMA led it to just let go of the biggest HW KO artist of all time, and its current champ.

And then they got the nerve to send their bald dumbass in chief who just recently slapped his wife on camera, who comes up with the “he would have made more than Brock Lesnar” fallacy. Lesnar was signed literally 15 years ago, and way before Zuffa sold this company for 4.2 billion dollars.

Potentially bad career move by Francis. If he goes to boxing, he likely gets flatlined by one of the top guys. That means he would have 1-3 fights where people care about watching him.

Then again, he may make more in those 1-3 fights than in 10 fights in the UFC, so all in all it may not be such a bad idea...

Gane arguable won his fight vs Francis anyway so the title lineage didn’t get devalued diminished n screwed over as hard as it could have been

Jones is a terrible person but as a fighter I'm pretty sure Jones was up for fighting Stipe or Francis but neither signed on the dotted line.

That's what I'm curious about as well. The optics of this whole thing look awful for Jones.
