Just thought I’d check in on the previou Golden Boot winners in Portugal and how they did when they left for a top league.

2019/20 Carlos Vinicius—scored 7 league goals for Fulham and a goal for Tottenham in 4 Premier League seasons

2020/21 Pedro Goncalves—still in Portugal. Amassed 15 league goals in his last 2 seasons

2021/22 Darwin Nunez—less accuracy from scoring positions than @Chules on Tinder.

2022/23 Medhi Taremi—scored 1 goal for Inter this season.

Oof. You forget he’s built his trade in the championship over here too though. The Swedish bodybuilder is tough.

It’s a league with a terrible conversion rate on the world scale.

Instinct is Gyokeres is Ollie Watkins level at best.

Still no idea why everyone is not going big for Oshimen.

Really curious where he ends up.

Apparently turned down Saudi and wants the Prem.

Perfect age to be making a big move, but likely to stay in Turkey by some accounts.

Looks similar to when Alan Smith did his for United 20 odd years ago, which turned out to be even worse than first feared. Think he ended up with a tibia break, a dislocation of the ankle and severe ligament damage. Was never really the same afterward, at least at United.

Seems it is a very similar injury.

As good as modern medicine can be, these things can linger.

People joke about Luke Shaw, but I’m convinced his injury at 19 is still affecting him now.
