Pale cunts as far eye can see, hopefully you had sunglasses upon arriving
Actually I'm glad to say there was plenty of diversity. :)

New Americanism just dropped: there were some 12yo boys hanging out at the bus stop yesterday and they decided to go to the 'gas station'.

Another 'ghost' Germanic word that occurred to me 👻 :
🇳🇴 Jeg tror = I think (that)
Shakespearean English: I trow
perhaps from the same root as 'true'

I love this kind of thing. There are a couple of bus stops near here still called 'Sandsend Garage' and 'The Red Lion' although the petrol station/garage closed years ago. I'm not sure how many, 20? and The Red Lion is now called the Stiddy. There's no trace to the naked eye that there was a petrol station there now. The Boyes in town has an air conditioner thing from a company that no longer exists as well. And they've just in the last few days switched their CCTV displays from CRT to flat screen.

I did have a conversation with some friends a while ago about what is the oldest computer still working (at its job, not as a novelty), and we thought probably Voyager 1 (1977) - obviously you can't go and switch it for a newer model.
Think I've forgotten @Concrete defected to Switzerland or summat. Innit?

Broke swissies?

Former Premier League footballer Lee Clark has been declared bankrupt, according to recent documents. The 52-year-old, who played for Newcastle United, Sunderland and Fulham during his career, later transitioned into management and television punditry. The Magpies favourite made 265 appearances for the club over two spells, netting 28 goals.

However, the ex-midfielder's financial situation is now in the spotlight following the filing of a bankruptcy order with the London Gazette. The petition was dated November 7 last year, but the bankruptcy order was issued on June 10. The petitioner was a finance company named One Stop Business based in York. Wallsend-born Clark - father to Bobby Clark, who played for Liverpool - is listed on the order as residing at a £2m property in Jesmond, Newcastle. Clark started his career at Newcastle before making a high-profile move to Sunderland in 1997.

However, he incensed Sunderland fans after a contentious incident during his tenure under Peter Reid, when he was seen wearing a T-shirt bearing a derogatory slogan aimed at 'Sad Mackem B*******' at the 1999 FA Cup final.
