Enjoy the Khabib era of invincibility while it lasts. Max is the best fighter on the planet right now (except for steroid Jones) and he is going to prove it Saturday night.
Durable, quick hands, granite chin, good cardio, long and lengthy.. he has all of the tools - minus the BJJ game (not a big enough sample size). Yes it is on 6 days notice. Yes 'The Eagle' has had a full camp. But this isn't Johnny 'sit around and eat hamburgers' Hendricks - Holloway is constantly training and staying in shape.
Except Nurmagomedov to come out strong like he always does; high pressure, fast hands, good defense, etc, and ultimately win the first round decisively. Give him the second too. By round 3 though, that is when the tables will turn.. Khabib will start to slow down and it will be quite noticeable. Why so soon? Because he will then be embracing for a full 5 round fight as he will realize this Holloway kid won't be finished anytime soon. You will hear Joe Rogan drop the 'Khabib looks tired' line, and that will be the beginning of the end. This is when Max will begin to find his striking range and really capitalize on some crisp punches. This is when the fight turns in the favor of the Hawaiian. This is when Max will realize that Khabib is not a machine, but rather just a man, while Nurmagomedov will go back to his corner pondering about which lifeform gave birth to the specimen sitting on the stool across from him..
Round 4 will be full panic mode for Khabib - he will be trying desperately to get the fight back to the ground, constantly shooting and bull-rushing forward, and as a result, he will leave himself exposed. Max will ultimately take advantage of these openings and catch Nurmagomedov with a hard shot, rocking the Dagestani badly. A follow up flurry from there will seal the deal.
Holloway via. 4th round TK(O).
Feel free to bump. Feel free to post the 'too long didn't read' gifs (especially the one of the Indian because it always makes me lol).
