This kid has better form than a lot of people I've seen at the gym.

Repost, but always motivating. Ryan Backe (sp?), the kid's dad, has some impressive videos of his own as well.

ah, i must have missed it when it was posted. nevertheless i find the pvc squat rack pretty heartwarming.

pfft. I can pull more than that

kids got me beat on front squat though

I'd never seen the farmer's walk vid before, THAT was fucking awesome. I love that he gets psyched up, something he clearly learned from dad.

I only remember seeing the back squat video before. Anyway, that's some good parenting.

That kid will be a monster, or become manerexic in his teen age years as a way to rebel against everything his father tried to instill in him as a kid

i wonder if messin around with weights this early will affect(stunt) his growth or bones later on

Hahaha, that yoke walk video is priceless. I bet the dad stopped filming because he had to run and bring the kid back.

Well right now he's just playing, so it won't do any harm. Any kids growing up do all kinds of physical stuff (Or at least should be doing) and turn out better because of it. Picking up heavy stuff, wrestling, sports, are all normal healthy things for kids to do. The strength they use in these activities isn't any different from that used in lifting.

If you go back a couple of generations, even kids would have various physical chores to do. My grandfather and his brother cleared an acre of forest without any power tools when they were 14 and 12 (I think). And they did all manor of physical work as soon as they were able.

The only problem would be is if somebody put pressure on him to do to much. But that's the case with any sport or activity.

Doing weight training at a young age will definitely cause severe health issues. He will shear his spinal cord, his knees will disintegrate and his hair will turn red.

thats no way to raise a kid. Having him bond with his father like that, learning lifts that enhances the health and well being, giving him physical exercise and goals at such an early age and introducing him to a sport he will no doubt excel in in later life which will opening doors for whichever path he chooses. Wheres the god damn playstation & coco pops, he could get hurt cant they just give him track and field instead?!?!?

Youll be telling me he eats fish and fruit next!!!!

Thats awesome. In the front squat video his barbell is made from pvc and particle board its not like hes lifting heavy. He falls on his butt and still holds the weight no problem. That kid will be strong for his age his whole life, I'm jealous.

We wonder why there's an increase in obesity and ADD among kids, yet we tell them not to do weights, reduce opportunities for them to exercise at school, tell them to take it easy when they do have a chance to do physical activities, etc.
