Every once in a while I will practise throwing bombs. Jabs where you step into it with your whole body, crosses as hard as i can and over hand rights with as much force as i can.Basically just 1 and 1-2 power combos.

i was just wondering, when the best time to fit this kind of training into your workout is.Obviously you need to be warmed up before you do it, but I wouldn't want to do it when I was super tired (possibly risking injury) at the end of my workout. I guess i'm asking how i should be organizing the order of my training session in regards to strength, speed, and cardio.

Erm..that kinda fits into my workout in every possible place. When i hit the pads, i hit as hard as i can, and every combo i throw, i make it as hard, fast and as accurate as i can.

yeah, i know what your saying, but i mean on the heavy bag. after a heavy bag power training session i am so sore.I know that your body will grow used to the shock of hitting the heavy bag really hard, and will adapt so you can hit harder, but i am wondering the frequency you should train this way, and what drills are best to do before and after.
I guess i will check the stickies.

::::edit:::
i think king kabuki explains everything i am lookin for in that sticky. sorry to bother you guys

here's a tip my trainer told me: when you get tired during your heavy bag session, hit even harder than the hardest you can. your body will get used to it eventually and there will be an increase in your power.

seems kinda like lifting heavy for boxing. plus when you're tired you can't hit as hard as you usually can so the chance for injury is small. you can do that when you arent tired but you'll probably break your hand, fuck your elbow up, or pull a muscle in your shoulder

I train speed and power..for my speed shots I take a little power off..just switch it up dude..

hi all, i am just a new comer. but i will like to put in my 2 cents. u can only punch as hard as u can back it up. it is physic. so bigger person with bigger bone(hand weight) can idealy thorw harder punch. but how hard u can punch isn't just as simple as Mass x Speed. picture a good punch, the impact will transfer from the target pass ur fist, wrist, elbow, shoulder, to ur upper body, back, hips, knee, angle then feet. so ur punch power can only be as strong as the weakest link(ya, i know that phase sounds old ;p).
and how to reach the proper form veries from styles to styles. so i can really say which is the best since i haven't try out everyone yet. but here are 2 fun test.
1. try to pick up something heavy, and see which way is easier. ur hand closer from ur body or further from ur body.
2. make a fist and extend it out infront of u. have someone push u on the fist and see which way u feel stronger. vertical fist or horizontal fist.
well that's all for now. see u guys later
