I just want to complain about the stupid idea of using "Disqus" to manage comments on articles on Sherdog.com

I have an account on Sherdog for posting... why can't I use my Sherdog.net account to post on sherdog.com?

I can use Facebook

I can use Twitter

A couple other options I won't use.... where is my option to post using my Sherdog account?

STUPID!!!

If you are going to integrate a 3rd party tool that allows for 3rd party logins why not support logins from one of your own sites rather than a bunch of shitty ones?

Who makes these decisions? Have them look up the words "usability" or "user friendly" then ask them if they think it is user friendly to have your users create an account on a 3rd party website that has nothing to do with your website at all, just to be able to post.

Wonder why no posts on some of your top articles? This is why!

Hope that helps a bit.

I did see that before, I actually don't mind the new look, glad the charcoal black is back.

I don't think that addresses the issue I was raising however. Unless you are planning on dumping Discus, which I don't think will happen because they house all your article comments now. If you dump them you lose any comments on articles.

I guess it is possible to get Discus to integrate the sherdog.net login but that will be up to them not your new web dev team.

I am usually not a complainer, and maybe it is because I am in the industry but...... I am getting tired of sites handing over methods and data to third party sites that aggregate all our data. Sherdog has a web dev team, it has user accounts, it has a website capable of recording comments.... the decision to hand this over to a 3rd party is a bad one.

When on Sherdog I would like to use my Sherdog account to post, but maybe that is just me.

Side note:
I love this website, I just find this to be really strange idea.

I just thought it was relevant since they said they plan allow more features on the dot com side be accessible via your dot net login.
