for me it’s wanting to still enjoy the sport even if my teams are having a bad year. I don’t own gear for any of these other teams nor am i going out to the bar and yelling and screaming for them but if my team is out it’s more fun to have someone else to root for. I’m a sports fanatic and pro Chicago everything so besides the bulls in the 90s when I was a kid I haven’t had many great years lol.
Been told that my whole life but let’s be honest here, neither team has ever been great at the same time so it’s not like there’s ever been a real rivalry. Frank Thomas is my favorite player of all time but I’m way more of a Cubs fan overall.
