It has always been the general consensus that Uriah Hall suffers with the mental part of fighting, pulling the trigger and hurting people in general which contrasts his innate ability to brutalise people

In another thread someone posted a video of his KO from TUF and the guy cant move and is asking "why is my eye fucked up" while being face down and then of course the famous hook kick near death KO

He celebrated after that one and then it became apparent it was quite serious, two KO's both seemed really serious and everyone was worried

Is it possible that Uriah has some PTSD from these KO's and is truly scared of hurting people to that extent again deep down and he is going through a bit of an inner torment and battle with fighting

Give him a break, kids were mean to him and bullied him when he was young.

It's possible, but it's also possible Rhonda beats Cain under the right conditions

I dont know, to me it seems like he isnt scared to be infront of another man wanting to hurt him, more that he struggles with hitting that man and hurting them in any way

More like PTSD from the beatdown he was on the receiving end of via Weidman.

    I think that's BS.

He smashed a ton of dudes honestly.

    Almost killed Mousasi even.

I think he just isnt ELITE.

    Good fighter for sure though.

My son had similar issues when he was in high school. He could very easily escalate situations to violence but then didn't want to hurt the other person even if they were attacking. I told him that those other kids are emotionally-stunted morons who don't understand anything except violence and hurting them is doing society a favor, that seemed to stick!

Ya, I think he has a mental problem going back to tuf. When he kod that dude with the spin kick and he started celebrating chael made him stop right away. Which probably made him feel like wtf did I just do was that right or wrong.

It's probably a mix between him hurting a fighter and potentially crippling them despite them not doing anything wrong to him personally + leaving your empathy out of the ring and treating the fighter in front of you like your worst enemy in there.

Question being: Is it difficult to seriously hurt someone in general when he/she hasn't done anything wrong to you and is just there for business (and there's no beef between you and him whatsoever)? Hell, it was even 100% clear that Uriah Hall actually liked Anderson Silva and had absolutely no beef w/him.

Just an excuse for why he’s not very good. When he does actually move forward and fight, his spinning kicks and everything else don’t land nor hurt his opponent. He’s not hesitant, he’s just not very good. He’s also scared of being hit.

He knocked out a TUF can who had his hands down and now people think he holds back lol

nothing wrong with hall, except maybe a little mental roadblocks and not always mentally focused during the fight. I don't think he's afraid or has ptsd, at times he shows killer instinct and goes for the finish and other times seems like a totally different fighter...maybe it's best to say his focus isn't consistent with each fight.

    Great thread TS.

Actually I think it’s not that at all. An example of what you’re thinking of is Rory McDonald. He was in some wars, great fighter....the if you listen to his recent interviews he has become torn because he became extremely religious and struggles with the fact that is occupation is to hurt others....that’s a guy who I think struggles with the concept.

For hall, I think his physical gifts show themselves against people who can’t keep up. He’s very fast, very flexible, and obviously can deliver some devastating strikes...but when his opponent keeps up with him he seems to struggle with landing consistently. He’s one of those feast or famine type of guys. Kinda like how mark hunt looked great when he was knocking guys out, but when he wasn’t you asked yourself “why is he even in the ufc?”.

Not everyone is as savage as the likes of Conor McGregor who fear nothing.

She probably does win but only because Cain will blow his ACL out getting into the octagon or slip on a banana peel

He doesn’t seem to be bothered by going all out on a sparring partner.

So your son would escalate situations to violence but then doesn't want to hurt the other people he pushed to violence and you told him They are the ones who are emotionally stunted even tho he's the one escalating the situation? I'm seriously confused here. I don't want to jump on your shit for being a shitty parent but it seems like you are the one who's emotionally damaging your son into being violent.

He came across as a very mentally questionable bully attempting to compensate for the trauma he said he suffered from being bullied in younger years. He is scary when he is on but he came across as a shit person perhaps damaged by the bullying moreso than those KOs
