A lot of people know Anderson Silva want's to have a boxing match with Roy Jones j. It's one of his big dreams. Roy pretty much said if Anderson really wants to do this boxing match he will have to beat Weidman and regain the belt. A lot of people think Silva just doesn't really have any motivation anymore. But if he really wants this boxing match with Roy he has to beat Weidman. I'm sure he has other things that motivate him as well to win this. But this is something he has talked a lot about.

If a freakshow match against RJJ is his only motivation, then we might as well just give Vitor a call and see if 168 is not on too late notice.

I hope he still has it. It mus be what? 16 years of MMA? Plus years of Kickboxing and all of the rest. THat gets tiring after a while and I wouldn't be surprised if Anderson doesn't care enough any more.

with that said, I hope he wins

i highly doubt this would be his motivation, yes he looked complacent and, as if he didn't care in his last fight. I think he wanted to win in spectacular fashion, that was his focus in my opinion, his primary goal didn't seem to be keeping his belt. He is responsible for the greatest highlight reel in fighting history. So he wanted to top the bonar performance with his showmanship. I think once he lost the belt and realised what had happened, he wanted it back because he recognises that he is still the best in the world. That will be his motivation for this fight, and that's why he will take this much more seriously than his first fight with Weidman.

Anderson has a lot of motivation for this fight, nothing to do with rjj. Shouldn't be too hard to figure that out by he would be motivated

I really don't think Anderson gets off on his own success like a Floyd Mayweather might.

A lost fight is disappointing I'm sure but it's far far less important to him than it is to the MMA community. I expect to see a sharper Anderson only out of concern for his own health. I hope Weildman wins though.

Promise him one of these and you're set to go.

This seems to have been the case for a while, I think.

I hope Anderson wins, too. I told a friend that night he lost the belt that if they rematched the next week, Silva would not mess around and KO Weidman early in the first, like many thought he would do last fight. Having nearly half a year pass, I'm not so sure it will go that way, but I sure hope so. Nothing against Chris Weidman, but Anderson Silva was the one constant in MMA for me since 2006'ish and I selfishly hate to see that era and part of my life go.

A loss to Weidman is a path to a boxing match with Roy Jones.

No, the fight is more marketable if Anderson Silva is at the top of his game i.e. claims his title as UFC Middleweight champion. UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva vs. Roy Jones Jr.That sounds better to the media. Dana White has already said that Silva needs to beat Weidman to earn the fight with Jones. He doesn't want to do it but Silva has already lost in the UFC so I guess he figures the added motivation of rewarding Silva with a shot at Jones if he wins is worth being able to book the greatest rematch in UFC history.

Nobody wants to see him box RJJ. Maybe 4 years ago there was a morbid curiosity to see how much a prime Anderson could handle of a shot Roy in boxing.

But now, if they really want to do it Anderson should go visit Pensacola and bribe RJJ with a years supply of Burger King to spar 6 rounds with him. Then they can upload the footage to YouTube for the couple of hundred people that are interested.

Motivated or not, Anderson is going down again at the hands of Weidman.

I love how everyone is counting ANDERSON FUCKING SILVA out in this fight. Retarded bandwagon jumping dipshits.
