I must have tried three or four different Resident Evil games over the years going back to the PS1 days the most recent being 7. I like the horror genre but they just didn't do anything for me.

MGSV This game is just a bizarre to me. Credits rolling every five minutes, incredibly long cut scenes, boring empty levels, ridiculous gameplay mechanics and almost zero story unless you want to listen to hours of audio tapes.

Any of the "metroidvania" games like Ori, Hollow Knight or Moonscars. Just not my thing.

Fallout

only played the 3rd one but i hated it.

Hollow Knight. And I'm going to try it again. But it's just too similar everywhere. Any power-ups I get don't really give me the "oh wow" and world-opening effects that I like in Metroid.

<Huh2>
I don't think you've played enough of it. The power ups literally unlock entire sections of the map that are otherwise inaccessible

Hey man I WANT to like it. And I'm definitely going to give it another try. I also would like to give Ghost Song another try because atmospherically it's really nice

"Amnesia: The Dark Decent" - Drawer opening simulator.

"Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice" - Oh' how I did try to like it. It's not a fun kind of difficulty for me, like the Souls series. It's just punishment, and I feel no joy getting over its hurdles.

RDR2. Try as a may, I just cant get into it

Also for me:

RDR+2

Yep, add another for me, RDR2. Tried three separate times to get into it, all three times fell flat and game just feels boring. I didn't like GTA5 either so maybe their games just aren't for me, I dunno.

Resident Evil

Last of us.

God of war series.

These however should be bannable offenses.

The Witcher 3, i played a couple of hours of it...but it just didn't click with me

I tried so hard to get into the Witcher 3. There is a great game there and I loved a lot about it but the combat system just got really boring to me. Seeing Geralt prance around with a sword was a bit of a turnoff. I will give it another chance when I dwindle down my backlog.

DMC:5 was another I couldn't get into. Cut scene after cutscene. Granted, I never got that far as I turned it off so it could have opened up more.

Mass Effect and Fallout. I like shooters but for some reason I just didn’t like the controls and slightly rigid movement. Slow moving characters seems to be the thing I struggle with.
I hope that changes as I used to thrive on fast paced games but my reaction time is diminishing as I age.

Last of us. The writing and characters were great but the gameplay just felt tedious to me.
100% agree, always put on my flame suit when I bad mouth this game though the fan base are pretty rabid.

I agree with a lot of the choices in this thread for a common reason. The menus, pacing and cinematics can be so cumbersome and intrusive that it gets boring quick. RDR2, Witcher 3, MGSV5.

The newer games can take ten or more minutes just to get into any gameplay at all.

I bought a Need For Speed game 3 years ago. Waited through 12 minutes of menus, loading screens and cutscenes and I still didn't get to drive a car. Uninstalled it and got a refund. Monster Hunter game was similar too. Talk about handholding to the extreme.

Turn on Mario on the NES and you're playing in less than 30 seconds. Got things to do. Not playing games while trying to play games isn't one of them.

Rdr2. Witcher. Anything Mario.

Black and White was huge and I could not get into it. Sims sucks. Sim City franchise.

Halo baloooooooooows. Most overrated franchise in gaming history.

Hitman franchise.

Kingdom Hearts.

That one Nintendo franchise where you start a town and Tom nook is in it

I will tell you this: Valiant Hearts the great war is one of the most moving games I've ever played. Don't know how popular it was though.

Far Cry
Assassin’s Creed
Call of Duty
Overwatch
Fortnite

I’m sure there’s a lot more I can’t think of.
