I certainly have. Doubt immigration to Canada would work, though, as the only opportunities would probably be the energy industry (no thanks). Besides, I could do Alaska without needing to go through a green card process. Siberia no, not really; they tend to have hot summers even with the cold winters, like the American Midwest. St. Petersburg, though, yes. Pretty much peaks in the 60s in the summers with only a few freakish days getting as high as the 80s. My gf is a Russian citizen so that's an option for the future. If they dump Putin and get someone that loves freedom, I'm in.

Yeah the largest cities in Siberia do tend to have 'warmer' summers though by my standards they are far from warm.

It is very possible that a Gulag system could be intact in Canada and nobody know about it. If I am not mistaken it took a few years before most people caught onto/knew about the gulags.
