The anderson was so humble/nice guy thing is super overplayed. When you look at some of his in ring antics and clowning he doesnt seem like a nice guy at all. More like early jon jones kind of fake nice guy wibe.
He was an incredible fighter though and thats what matters in this sport.

He was a nice guy for every minute that he was not in the cage fighting, and that's the important part, once they're in the cage they're trying to kill each other anyway and that's the place not to be nice.

He's also not a poor man's Silva, he's a great fighter in his own right.

Silva fought Bonnar (mediocre fighter) and Forrest who was on Xanax. Israel’s body of work is more impressive. When it’s all said and done I have no doubt he will retire as the GOAT Middleweight.

Anderson got destroyed by Chael for 20 minutes and was getting worked in the rematch as well.
Izzy would not get beat down by Chael like that because he has WAY better take-down defense.
Izzy is just as good of a striker as Anderson as well. The only area that Anderson has over Izzy is his submission game.

The problem is that Anderson never fought a dude like Jan. He never fought a guy 25lbs bigger than him with great wrestling. Had he fought someone like randy couture, Jon Jones or even a prime Mark Coleman, he would have got beat the fuck down a lot worse than he did by Chael and probably finished.
The only thing close to Jan that Anderson ever felt was DC, who treated him like a geriatric patient out of respect just like he did when hr choked Hendo instead of beating the shit out of him. DC could have easily taken that version of Anderson down and pounded him out in the first round, but he was respectful because Anderson was old as shit and had just saved the card.

All this hate that Izzy is getting is pathetic. Dude has balls. He took a very dangerous fight and lost to a much bigger man. No shame at all IMO.

Anderson had a different aura about him, didn't have that insecure millennial vibe, and didn't obsess about his own greatness like that. The guy would literally always tell you that someone else is the greatest, and downplay his own skills. He never called dudes out, never picked his opponents, never talked shit on social media, or act like he was more special than the rest of the roster... aside from the greatness he would display inside the cage, he pretty much flew under the radar.

Izzy is just a try hard cheap immitation who tries too hard, but lacks the aura and charisma to pull it off and be likable. He goes out of his way to get attention and steak other people's ideas and accomplishments, but just failed miserably at attempting to take down 205's like Anderson did. Now it's back to 185 with his tail between his legs, only about 10 title defense away from matching the spider, good luck.

His first loss came to a LHW behemoth.

Silva's first multiple losses were against tiny guys that could make LW.

Fair enough, but again he did it for the 15 minutes he was in the cage and once it was over it was over and he never did it before or after the fights. Again, you’re OK with him rearranging someone’s face, but oh the injustice if he happens to taunt him while he does it?

I’m not a fan of Silva’s personality but his “aura” + everything else is why I have him as GOAT. Michael Jordan, who I also didn’t particularly like, is the only other athlete like him I’ve seen. Their competition would school 99.99% of the rest of the planet and they would make them look like amateurs.
Jordan would literally school everyone in the fucking all-star games. A class of their own.
