Not trying to be devil's advocate here but he didn't assault a UFC employee.

He punched some guy in a bar in Ireland. He didn't do so on company property or on company time while he was working.

As such what does it have to do with the UFC?

This is a matter for local authorities. He should be charged with assault and dealt with accordingly.

It's like saying that I punched a guy in a bar while out one evening and the company I work for wants to punish me for it.

Yes, the UFC is combat sports organization but this incident literally has nothing to do with the UFC.

Unless Dana ever makes a Conor vs Old Bar Man fight in the UFC, then they can use the footage of Conor popping him to promote it.

Sad but true! UFC is more closely related to WWE than it is to any mainstream sports org.

If being a multiple time drug cheat and crashing into a pregnant lady because you were smoking weed while driving and ran a red light then ran away without checking on her doesn't get you a lifetime ban, then swatting an old guy in a bar for getting lippy isn't even a fine.

The UFC didn't punish Conor for breaking into an arena where a press conference was being held, running with a posse through the building and hurling a metal dolly into a bus full of fighters a day out from their bouts at Madison Square Garden.

Two fighters had to cancel their fights because they were injured.

Conor is a jackass but he is a jackass of their making. So long as the UFC can shake money out of Conor he can effectively do whatever he wants.

Why did he think he'd be respected by people in their 60s? The bar is full of old men. I don't see anyone near his age in the bar except the bartender.

Ol' Conor reminds me of Joe Pesci's character in the film Casino. The guy was feared by others because of his ability to put a guy away with a few shots, or just one. Then he starts taking drugs, boozes around, cheats on his wife, and soon enough, he gasses when trying to beat up some guy.
