I think Belal would beat Colby.

Colby is 35. He hasn’t fought in over a year. His last win over some coming off a win-streak was in 2018!!!

Belal has the grappling to to keep the fight standing and strong enough gas tank to keep up Colby’s pace/volume. Belal is the better striker

Plus Belal trained with Khabib and Islam. There nothing Colby is present that he hasn’t felt already.

THERE IS A REASON THAT COLBY IS DUCKING HIM

Belal because he's not wasting his prime years like Colby is.

Team Belal all day

Wow the bias against Covington is hilarious.
It’s like people forget Belal is 34 and is also going to be 35 this year. They are the same age.

It would be a good matchup imo, both are grinders Covington has the higher pace but Belal seems to have the edge strength wise. But I’d pick Colby with the stronger wrestling, Belal would have to catch him or fight a perfect fight.

Belal is 34 so no clue why you dummies are harping on Colby’s age.

No I don’t think the MMA equivalent of the prawn from District 9 will beat Colby.
Yeah that is weird. I was about to search Belal's age because they were making it seem like belal was like 30 or something smh. Fuckin Dreyga

They're just a few months apart and Belal has more matches.

If Belal fights Shavkat that may add further damage even if he wins.

But I have a feeling Belal is more hungry right now than Colby.

Belal keeps a strong pace in his fights too

Colby vs Maia 317 strikes thrown
Colby vs Barbarena 141 strikes thrown

Belal vs Thompson 95 thrown
Belal vs Maia 127 strikes thrown

And the gap on output gets bigger if we compare 5 round decision victory volume. Colby throws WAY more strikes. Belal is about 3% more accurate though. And like I explained to you, 1 training camp with Khabib means squat. And Gaethje had wrestled with Jordan Burroughs yet Khabib still took him down and Gaethje used the same dumb logic you just did lmao...

People are dumb enough to fall for his gimmick. I listen to an MMA podcast and people are crying over Colby "taking it too far" like that isn't the entire point of his shtick. Woodley's entire "everything and everyone is racist" was more intolerable for me because he actually believed that he's not a disliked person everyone is just racist.

Damn didn’t knew that Belal is almost the same age. Then I definitely favor Covington even more. He is a better grappler and striker.

Probably Colby, despite being one of the most overrated fighters in MMA history.

I always underestimate Belal, though, due to his unappealing style of fighting. I still don’t rate him, despite his nice win streak.

If Khabib came out of coaching retirement, I’d favor Belal 90/10%.

If Leon refuses to fight Colby I could see this happening for an interim belt. Shades of Gane vs Lewis when Ngannou want more time off after the Stipe fight.

Colby vs Belal could headline 291 if the UFC wants to stack 290 & 292 with multiple title fights. Would Colby actually agree to it? Not sure what other choice he has. I do think it would be an absolute dog fight though

Comes down to who is the better striker IMO and I don't know who wins that right now

Close fight.

Belal hits a harder and is physically stronger. Colby has better cardio.

IMO Belal is the more proven fighter with the better wins. He's been active and getting it done over and over. Colby's claim to fame is largely based on loosing two title shots, to what is now the former champion.
