any legal precedent for mandating that, as a condition of employment, employees must complete an "ally pledge" which includes acknowledgement that certain groups are "historically oppressed," etc.? it's certainly evil, but is it illegal? my guess is this has been going around over the past 12 months and there should be some precedent at this point. seems like a loyalty oath, basically mandating that you declare yourself a communist ally, "embrace diversity," etc. there is a difference between a company indicating this is a policy, versus asking an employee to attest to holding those beliefs.

Is there a reason why you wouldnt support the inclusion of all Americans in the workplace?

this isn't a question of the legality of diversity-driven hiring practices, which is a ship that seems to have sailed already.

this is a question about whether it is legal to ask an employee to attest to holding certain beliefs as a condition of employment. religious beliefs, political beliefs, etc.

Why should I "embrace diversity" when I'm at work? I don't give a fuck who I work with and its not up to me who my employer hires. What does it mean, that I pledge to be OK with not hiring white people so a minority can have the job instead?

I'd just say I judge people by the quality of their character, not the color of their skin. And if any coworkers want to dress up like women in their own time, I don't agree with it, but have at it, unless you're promoting that crap to kids, this is America.

that is part of the problem with the pledge; it is so open-ended that it can be applied to anything, in bad faith. but pretty much everything the left does is in bad faith, so there is a kind of perverted consistency there.

Not wanting to be forced to attest to something as condition of employment doesn't mean that you don't hold those values. It could just be a matter of principal with regards to over reach by corporations.
I've never really done anything illegal, but just because I don't have anything to hide doesn't mean I want to give police full access to my home or vehicle without a warrant.
I respect people pronouns, but that doesn't mean I support legislation for compelled speech.

A pledge such as this (if it even exists) is highly insulting and makes assumptions about an entire group of people based on the color of their skin. Pretty sure they have a word for that, help me out here bud?

Of course it’s illegal. But why Hasn’t this shit got into our court system yet. That’s the real question.

Please don't think about things. There are two answers, yes and no. Going forward let's let the important and influential people do the thinking...

No, there's nothing illegal about it. And no one is obligated to sign it, they can choose to work elsewhere.

It's nothing remotely like a loyalty oath. It's a company that has chosen a certain position on an issue and wants to ensure that its employees share the same philosophy. A necessary component if the employee is to properly represent the company to the public. At will employment makes this a complete non-issue.
