Poirier Wanted Gaethje or Topuria for Retirement Fight - Surprised by Holloway Offer

I really hate Topuria's attitude that he thinks he deserves to sit & wait for a 155 title shot.

We should be seeing Topuria vs Poirier. That would be a great fight. I hope Topuria's attitude backfires on him somehow.

The risk of poirier winning and then retiring with the belt is pretty undesirable for the ufc. They wouldn't do that.

I'm glad they didn't. Gaethje didn't want it, and I think I understand why....it's kinda nice that they are equal 1-1. They can jith live with that, sitting on their porches smoking their cigars reminiscing........

Are you worried max might beat him? Max has had time to grow into the weight class and it's a different fight now(obviously,) but I'm much more confident that Max can fight on an equal.footing this time around whereas the first time I always felt the odds were in favour of Dustin (size and power differential).

Time certainly favors Max now, being 3 years younger.
Growing into the weight class helps.
Poirier no longer training full time also. He's a business man now.
Dustin also still needs surgery, but has no time for it.
Being 2:0 certainly doesn't help with motivation.
He might be overconfident like in Gaethje II

Max has been knocked out by Ilia though. And Poirier hurt him like what? 5 times? The last time. The fence preventing an official knockdown.

Let's hope Poirier pulls it off though.

Justin is older and is like one foot out the door for years now and he already beat Dustin. Max Holloway is younger thus he can fight for many more years to come. If he beats Dustin poirier after having already lost to him, it's good hype.

Poirier is 2-0 against Holloway.

In my opinion, Poirier vs. Holloway 3 should never happen. I want to watch Poirier vs. Justin Gaethje 3.
