Poirier vs Diaz really should be on the UFC 229 card for when Khabib pulls out

Why does the UFC not have serious contenders fighting on the same card as the title bout? It makes no sense, so when Khabib pulls out you can just strip Khabib and have the trilogy of Conor vs Diaz or Conor vs Poirier for the title. Personally I think most people would prefer Diaz to replace Khabib than Poirier.

I don't understand why it isn't either. You have a fill-in ready to go in case of a situation like you described, but also you have a guaranteed dramatic call-out regardless of who wins the main event.
