For one, I never linked this to rape gangs. That was the TS.

I made the distinction surrounding the legality of going nude in public because you made a comparison between imposing a certain style of dress being imposed by society and forcing women to wear headscarfs. I just noted that British society doesn't force women to wear or not wear anything they don't want to. I believe from my interaction with Muslim culture that they reinforce the idea that headscarfs are desirable for women to have to wear, and instill this idea in girls from a very young age.

Theresa May wore the headscarf out of politeness. I don't believe we deal with inequality by appeasing an ideology that promotes it.

I'm leaving work and won't be posting again until next week, but let's leave on this note. Your post is dripping with irony. By your own admission British society DOES force - legally - women to wear a top if someone is upset by them taking it off. You yourself admitted to British society forcing women to wear certain things in certain situations to appease oversensitive snowflakes, then you want to sneak in and say they don't? To add to this irony of your contradiction here, to the best of my knowledge neither British society nor that Mosque could apply the same legal coercion to Theresa going in there bare headed. Correct me if I'm wrong - I'm not expert on British law - but anyone who tries to actually make her wear that head scarf in that Mosque would be the ones subject to legal censure, not her for not wearing it. Does the same rule of "if she went in bare headed to shock them" apply if she goes in without a head scarf? If not, it seems that British society has its own issues to deal with, because it is using legislative force to dictate dress based on peoples feelings. Not even religious tenets - just "Wahhh, the lady upset me with her boobies! PUNISH HER COPPER!"

Again, there are legitimate reasons to be concerned about Muslim standards of dress, and how they enforce it within their own community. Your focusing on Theresa May wearing it as a courtesy does nothing to address that though. As for the OP, it is asinine to use this as an avenue to criticize her record on dealing with rape gangs, rather than criticizing her dealing with rape gangs.

England is supposed to be a secular society where the two sexes are equal. Yet the PM is abiding by religious rules? I don't like it.

Because there is no dress code requiring head covering in Islam. The requirement is for both men and women to dress modesty. So where is the peekaboo attire for men?

Still not a big deal, right? Wrong! In the 80s women in Afghanistan were told to cover up. Their response was "you want it, you wear it." Now many women are required to dress like ninja bee keepers there. As far as I know there were no severe dress codes enforced in SA 20 years ago. Now there are cases of women being prosecuted for dressing "western" and sharing pics on social media. Ask a woman to go to the beach in a bikini in Pakistan and see what happens.

Who cares, right? Wrong again. Islam is undergoing a sponsored reformation and it's called Wahhabisim and it is a return to fundamental Islam from centuries past. Pure Islam from old Mos time isn't tolerant of equality between the sexes. As the most powerful woman in the UK May shouldn't have played along with wearing this symbol of hierarchy. That's a good point (this mosque appears quite progressive from what I can gather), but for every Muslim woman who is forced by male family members to cover their head/face, how could this not be seen as a slap in the face? Some women don't get the privilege of deciding whether to wear a hijab/Niqab.
