Please tell me this is not staph!

I have been having faint pain in my right leg below the knee for about two weeks now but couldn't figure out why. Then just today I noticed this little fucker near the back of my right shin and now I'm worried. I have booked an appointment with a physician for this week but I'm getting really impatient. So should I be worried about this? And should I go train this week before going to the doctor?

Probably not Staph then, but I am not a doctor so what do I know? But the few times I have had staph it has spread quickly. Circle the inflamed area with a pen or sharpie and note any spreading or streaking. Also don't pop it. It could just be a badly ingrown hair. Your leg won't fall off, just hold off messing with it until you see your physician. Don't go popping or lancing it.

I'm not sure what it is man, a lot of times staph, MRSA and other skin infections can look a lot alike. It was a good idea that you made the doctors appointment. Make sure to keep the infected area clean and dry until you see the doctor.

does it feel warm ? try sticking it with a clean needle & drain it, if some cheesy stuff is what comes out then good chances are its Staph. My daughter went in for a sore like that on her leg i had been draining it before her Dr appt, it came back as positive for MRSA. its gone away now with some antiobiotics

Nothing wrong with a little self surgery. Get a clean razor and cut the head off it. Squeeze the hell out of it until nothing but blood comes out. Clean it with some iodine and out a badage over it. You will be fine.
