Pitbull Attacks Police Horse, Gets Shot

A deputy tried to Taser the dog when it first broke away and tried to bite a horse, but couldn’t obtain a clear line that wouldn’t potentially injure the horse. The dog returned and bit another horse, a 16-year-old named Romeo, on the leg, WCTV reported.

When the pit bull attacked the horse a third time, Deputy Crystal McClelland, who was riding a separate horse, shot the dog once. Consequently, the dog died at the scene, according to a statement from the sheriff’s office.

Doesn't sound like a trigger happy cop to me, seems they were reluctant to shoot a dog until it actually bit a horse and then came back to attack again

Yep, there you go. That's exactly what all varieties of pitbulls (and all varieties of dogs) need. They need to have EVEN MORE controversy, murder, blood, intestines, gore, guts, flesh, and dead children surrounding them.

By the way, I'm a fan of pet dogs. I just think that all of these messages on Sherdog are hilarious.

wut?

I'm saying I'd shoot the prick on my property, nothing to do with a dog.

I see. I thought that your message was implying that you would "let loose the dogs of war" and make your pets turn Lovelyboy into burgers.

My mistake.

Attacking young horses? Sounds like serious foal play to me.

I'll allow it.

All good! I would never release my dogs on someone (I have two ~100lb dogs). People like him though I would happily take care of myself.

Pitbulls were specifically breed to keep attacking even when they are being attacked. You basically have to kill it or put it to sleep to get it to stop once they start. It's why they are usually the ones who kill people
I am familiar with what a Pit Bull Terrier is and the history of the breed. People do seriously underrate the effectiveness of a tactical baton in trained hands. It would have the same heavy impact as a swing of a hammer.

Why is 'homeless' in all caps?
Because why the fuck does a homeless dude have ownership of an animal, let alone a dangerous animal? They're peers at that point. The bum offers the dog nothing it can't get on it's own.

Ah. I thought it was because this was somehow an abuse by the police because the poor guy was homeless.

This cop showed more than enough restraint here. Maybe even too much.

Now, had the offending dog been a black lab, the cop probably would have been triggered by the color and put a bullet in the lab's head at bite number one. :D

Dogs of peace struck again

Authorities in Lafayette, Indiana, are investigating the death of a 26-day-old baby boy, who was mauled over the weekend by one of his family’s dogs.
Officers who were called to the home where Julian Connell was attacked Saturday morning arrived to find the dog — a pit bull mix — standing over the injured infant.
“Prior to attacking the infant, the pit-mix had been fighting with a beagle-mix in the home,” reads the statement. “The beagle-mix was taken to the Purdue Veterinary Hospital for treatment of its injuries.”
According to police, the teenage brother separated the two fighting dogs. At that point, the pit bull-mix attacked the infant.

Another story where we don't even know if it was an actual pit

A lot of tweaker homeless have pit bulls as a "pet" (weapon).

A lady and her male companion kept a large amount of them in their "camp" along the Fresno River, near Madera.

One got loose, and killed a man. His body was found in a canal.

This tweaker bitch had already been known to use her dogs, who were not leashed (of course...), to threaten people who lived nearby, who would walk their dogs along the canal bank.

People who own Pits need to realize what they are in for with that breed.

Responsibility goes a long way, but these are usually tattooed wankstas, with no accomplishments and therefore something to prove, with the typical California narcissism to go with it. Along with hard drugs like heroin and meth.

Drop their leech asses in the pit of a burning volcano. Fuck 'em.

Yup, nothing says " i have a small penis" like needing a pitbull. And a Camaro.

It's a shame there was not another officer on foot nearby who could of subdued the dog with lesser force. A couple baton strikes would have been enough. I also understand the mounted patrol units receive training to protect their horses in a hazardous condition, I get it. Just a shitty all around situation if you ask me.

Edit

Could have been a kid the next time and someone could have shot the owner and dog in a fit of rage.
Glad there's no chance of that happening anymore.

Cops need more training when it comes to pit bulls. Shoot first ask questions later.

Yes and if we had a crystal ball to discuss every hypothetical scenario we would be here for a very long time.
