Since eating to lose or gain weight is largely about volume (getting more or less calorie dense foods), I thought this would be interesting. Here is a website with pictures and weights (or volumes) of 200 calories worth of various foods. It helps put things in perspective:

After looking at some of those pictures, it's getting me hungry.

Except for that Fiber One cereal picture. That just looks like a bunch of meal worms.

that's pretty neat thanx! i think i'm gonna make a trip to the fridge now...

notice more of the donut to equal 200 than the sesame bagel

really shows how "junk" food adds up quick

Yeah it's interesting to see that you can have a giant plate or celery or broccoli or you can have 17 gummi bears.

yeah and half a snickers is already 200. I know it is wrong, but that bacon looked mighty tast - but so did the apples.

70 grams of the bagel = 52 grams of the donut

I don't see what you're seeing.

OP: Thanks.

There is more of the donut in volume (only a small peice is cut out) because the bagel is more dense so less bagel weighs more. I think that's what he is referencing.

Great find. It really is cool to look at that. I hate pork and beans. I saw that picture and I heaved a little.

PS: I tried your protein bar recipe from another thread clint, good stuff.

Good post, the pictures make it clearer for a person to know exactly what 200 calories is.

And this is why my favorite "cheat snack" are Jelly Belly Beans...those are quite a few beans for 200 calories.
