    They were both juniors. He mentioned it in an interview in Russia about him making a return to Judo and vie for a spot on their 2012 London team. He stated that he's also defeated every HW on the past couple of Russian teams to that point.

    Vitaly left Judo to focus on winning Sambo world championships. After he started MMA was considering a major return but then he started smashing the f*** out of any HW put in front of him and went where the immediate money was.

    Ahahaha!!! 17 actually. A 17 year old 6'8" 290lb Lebron James-type athlete Judo phenom and Vitaly was 4 years older at 21 in 2006. I guess defeating an older 2012 silver medalist 6'5" 280lbs Alexander Mikhaylin was LOL too!
