I'd wager most people on here weren't alive during Bob Foster's reign and many of the regulars on here would struggle to name 10 strong LHWs today, let alone during Bob Foster's era (honestly, going off the top of my head, it's pretty difficult to think of 10 that I consider to be genuinely good). I can name a number of his top opponents over the years only because I've gone back to watch his several of Foster's fights on youtube and because I've purposefully gone back and looked through his career. What is clear is that from about 1966 to 1974, Foster consistently beat top rated LHWs in completely dominant fashion. Again, it wasn't an era where there were a lot of other top LHWs with big names. I wouldn't rate it close to either Spinks' era or the peak of the Charles/Moore era (you could almost separate the eras when Charles was the best LHW and Moore was the best LHW and still call each separate era clearly better than Foster's era). My issue is with claiming that this LHW era has shown itself to be anything remotely special, and, more than that, that someone like Sergey Kovalev has even begun to dominate this era in a similar way to how Bob Foster dominated his own era.
