Philadelphia police abruptly raided and destroyed the “Occupy ICE” encampment set up by protesters outside the Immigration and Customs Enforcement office in Center City on Thursday afternoon.

“Stay calm! Stay calm!” a protester shouted as police used bicycles to push through the encampment and knock down the protesters’ tents and canopies, which had been set up in the area since Monday evening as part of a national movement calling for the abolition of ICE. Local demonstrators also have called for the closure of the federal detention center in Berks County and an end to local collaboration with federal immigration officials.

It's like he really wants to do something. But he can't decide what to do, so he just ends up leaving.

Anyways, whether not this was the right thing to do just depends on whether or not the police had already given them a fair and considerate warning that it was time to move their camp. If they were told respectfully that it was time for them to move, and there was a legal basis for making that request, then there's really nothing for them to complain about. The police were not abusive or anything, they just forced them to leave.

I have no idea how I feel about this... on the one hand I get WHAT the protestors are angry about but on the other side of it if they overstayed their permit or didn't have one the cops had a right to push them out of the area....

LOL I lived in Philadelphia for 7 years and these little darlings got off easy. You definitely don't want to ever fuck with the Philly cops.
On the other hand if you are respectful of them and co operative it's amazing what they will overlook.

"Hold my umbrella honey, shits about to go down."

Bout damn time

Too bad the protesters aren't spending that time fighting for the rights of citizens. Civil asset forfeiture sounds far more grievous to me than enforcing immigration law. The one consistency seems to be not caring that laws are broken.

Let's set aside that this violates the Constitution in several ways. (Yes, aliens have constitutional rights. Read page 12 of Gorsuch's opinion in Dimaya v. Lynch.).

Ok, the cops believe you're an illegal Canadian thanks to an anonymous tip.

Is this going to cause any problems for you?
Well, he's Canadian so....

No? They buy up all the fucking milk at the local Costco and drive like fucking douchebags so fuck 'im.

Protester: how the fuck do you sleep at night?
Police officer: in a big bed with my wife!

“Police used bicycles to push through the encampment and knock down protesters’ tents.”

Some hardcore shit right there. Civil war, here we come.

What is the real name of umbrella boy? That douche is hilarious.

This shit is absolutely hilarious...

“We didn’t do anything”!!!!!!

From the OP’s article it says they kept blocking the entrance to the building and had to be told to move numerous times.
If they kept blocking a fire exit for the building, I see no problem with the camp getting closed down.

.
Thats a pretty good summary of how I feel about most young liberals. They don't really know what they're doing.

I gotta give credit here, the bike thing is pretty smart. Used vertically to push through people clustered together without going hands on on them, horizontally to create a barrier between the cops and the protesters, and all a lot less “fight back!” feelings inducing than if they’d showed up with riot shields

We went from this

To this

Umbrella Boy tried valiantly to counteract the fascist pigs, but he could no fill the giant footsteps of the hero we all so desperately crave:

Oh, where are you, great Techno Viking, and why have you left our pleas unaided?
