Phil Robertson to Speak at GOP Convention

Sorry but the Creator of ethics would have the final say on whats ethically cowardice and whats not. All you can do is offer your very limited opinion which would mean absolutely nothing to a Creator.

Noah, Solomon, David, Moses (according to the Bible) were all mortal men, and their opinions did matter to the Creator.

Dochter in his scathing opinions of God could also mean something to him.

Well right it would probably make the God of Abraham very sad that one of his creations is so prideful and intent on living out his eternal existence separate from God. But it wouldn't have any impact on whether or not God's actions were ethical.

Most people would also say that just because an entity does something doesn't make it ethical. Even if that entity created a universe.

Didn't God agree with Noah that his actions in drowning the entire world was a little extreme and that he would never do something like that again?

Man can and has questioned God's ethics...even changing his mind. (according to the Bible)

Sure, but if that entity created the very concept of ethics then he would be the utmost authority on what is and isn't ethical. If he says something is ethical based on his creation of ethics then how can you argue from your very limited perspective? All you can do is put your fingers in your ears and go "lalalalagodisunethcicallalalalal".

Yeah but did he say he would never do it again because it was unethical or that he simply wouldn't do it again for some other reason?

No. He'd have to not just create the concept, but be wholly infallible on the topic. As people have pointed out throughout this thread, the bible has clear instances where he has been swayed by mortals, meaning he cannot be infallible, as he was swayed by an appeal to ethics that weren't limited to his concepts.

In the Cosmic Sceheme of things, in regards to justice, fairness etc....this is pretty fu*king warped...

I don't recall which scholar it was ...
but he said the "Old Testament God is genocidal, maniacal, infantical, ......psychopath.

I'm butchering the quote, but to anyone familar with the Old Testament, this is absolutely correct.

That's 1 possibility, but I have a couple more for you:

1- the people that did those things said "Hey God told us to do this" so that everyone else would say oh, ok.

2- I've only read about people living sinfully being killed in the Bible; so perhaps the created have no place to judge the creator.

1. Ya think? That's pretty much the story of every religious movement said to be based on what a diety said/wants ever. Oldest trick in the book, and people still fall for it.

2. What sin did Job's children commit? They were killed to test Job so God could prove a point to the devil. What sin did the infant sons of Egypt commit? How about the children of Jerhico? During Noah's time, there wasn't a single newborn babe that hadn't committed a sin yet when the flood came? And even times that God killed someone, was it really necessary to kill someone for things like picking up a stick on Saturday, of for looking over ones' shoulder as your home got hit by fire and brimstone? Finally, what kind of fucked up psychopath punishes people with infinite suffering for eternity for failing to believe in him, especially if you are born and raised in a place where nobody does.

And while we are at it . . why did the head god of the polytheistic pantheon of Canaanites become God. Yahweh was Zeus, and then the Israelites decided to drop the rest of the pantheon. Why would the creator of the Universe stash himself as a sky god of a pantheon until mid to late bronze age?

Anyone who reads the Bible with a clear head and a conscience should come to realize fairly early on that this God guy was at best, petty, vain, and prone harming people very badly for little to no reason; and at worst he is pure evil. So either God is evil, or that isn't really God. I am doubtful there is a creator, but even there is a creator I am 99% sure that it wasn't the God of the Jews, Christians, and Muslims. If the 1% is true, then we live in an evil universe.

First of all, God didn't kill Job's kids; and secondly:

4 And his sons would go and feast in their houses, each on his appointed day, and would send and invite their three sisters to eat and drink with them. 5 So it was, when the days of feasting had run their course, that Job would send and sanctify them, and he would rise early in the morning and offer burnt offerings according to the number of them all. For Job said,
