alright, i finally decided to start a training log.

as much as i love MMA, my passion for training in grappling has got down. ive always been interested in K-1 and after seeing a few local kickboxing shows, my plans have changed. so now, i will attempt to have my first kickboxing bout sometime early next year. in my gym im already one of the best boxers (we have boxing, kickboxing, and BJJ). so for the next few months i will be just going to the kickboxing class.

my stats:
17 years old
5'10
155 lbs (planing to fight at 143lbs)
3 years boxing
just started kickboxing 2 weeks ago

UPDATE

looks like no more local kickboxing. only boxing and MMA
 
11-27-06

started out with a mile run
5 mins jump rope

2 rounds of shadowboxing
2x 5 mins. round on heavybag (focusing on knees and kicks)
4x 3 mins. hitting thai pads (2 rounds focusing on knees and kicks)
another round on heavybag

end session with 100 situps
 
11-28-06

(no class today)

1 mile run on treadmill
5 mins jump rope

2x 5 min. round on the bag

finish with 50 kicks on each leg
 
seems pretty cool. i would also like to have a kickboxing match soon too, probably next spring sometime. where at are you training?

KB Class:
10 mins. jump rope

a little bit of shadowboxing

worked on knee kicks on thai pads for about 30 mins

2x 5 min. round on banana bag

100 situps


after that i just watched the more expierenced fighters spar. my coach doesnt want me sparring with kicks just yet (still new when it comes to kicks)

Boxing class:
10 mins jump rope

2x rounds shadowboxing

2x 3 minute rounds on focus mitts

3x 5 min. rounds on heavybag

finsh with shaowboxing

went to my local health club/fitness center this morning

2 miles on the treadmill under 13 mins

some light weight high rep weight lifting

took about 30-40 mins

at home:

20 mins of jump rope, push ups, situps

then i hit the bag focusing on knees & kicks (about 20 mins)
 
12-04-06 - not feeling to well, had to stay home


12-05-06

(no class today)

ran 1 mile (6:42)

nobody to hold mitts or pads for me :(

3x 3 min. rounds on heavybag

2x 3 min. rounds on banana bag

right outside for about 7 minutes. i wanted to go for more but its 10 degrees up here. cold as heck!

when i got home:

10 mins of low & mid kicks on the bag

ive been getting lazy :(

went to kickboxing class. decided to start training in orthodox stance.

did a little bit of everything in orthodox stance (thai pads, focus mitts, heavybag, thai bag, etc)

training should start picking up in Januaray

1-02-07

5 mins jump rope

2x 5 min rounds on focus mitts

15 mins of kick & knee strikes on thai pads

cool down with 5-10 mins of shadowboxing

im still trying to get used to fighting orthodox

FINALLY got some sparring in (boxing only)
 
the past few days ive been getting a lot of sparring (kickboxing) im starting to get used to it. id like to think i did pretty good, i was sparring lots of guys of have been doing kb a lot longer than me so it helped a lot

lots of cardio work the past couple days. ive been going to the local health clubs lately.

looks like the gym im going to will have to close up (money reasons) :(
