News PFL signs 21-yo Dutch WMMA-prospect Senna van de Veerdonk

Senna is 3-1 in MMA and has a Judo base (blackbelt). She’ll make her PFL-debut against Jackie Cataline on February 3.
I used to roll with Senna when I participated in Judo as a child. She also studied at the same high school as me.





Senna is in a relationship with Dutch MMA-fighter Daan Duijs (8-1), who’s had a very accomplished Judo career before.
Duijs is also a judo blackbelt and is currently under contract with Cage Warriors.

vd Veerdonk is coached by Duane van Helvoirt, an experienced MMA-fighter with a BJJ-background who’s the head coach of VanBuelSports, a Gracie Barra featured gym located in Oss, the Netherlands. UFC-fighter Germaine de Randamie and Bellator-fighter Ilias Bulaid also train there, aswell as Senna’s boyfriend Daan Duijs.
She trains her striking at SB Gym in Utrecht (founded by Said El Badaoui) which is a kickboxing gym in the first place with fighters like Badr Hari, Melvin Manhoef, Ottman and Abu Azaiter, Germaine de Randamie, Ilias Bulaid, Hamicha, Ilias Ennahachi and many more great fighters.

Aswell as a lot of Russian prospects/established names who’re fighting in smaller promotions now, like Shara Bullet, Vladimir Mineev, Sharaputdin Magomedov (and Artem Vakhitov:)).
Those guys are great fighters, marketable and can really do something for UFC, but it looks like they don’t want to dig deep and pay them what they’re worth..

I don't think the UFC are really interested in new fighters for women's featherweight. When Nunes retires so will the weight class.
 
I think many would jump ship if the UFC offered them a competitive deal ... meanwhile they are making money with decent exposure...

Leuk om te lezen dat er weer wat Nederlands talent aankomt. Kom jij toevallig uit Oss dan? Ik heb daar vroeger gewoond en ik heb daar momenteel nog veel familie wonen. Heb in Oss ook jaren lang judo gedaan bij Pardoel, die sportschool bestaat al een tijdje niet meer geloof ik en is geloof ik overgenomen. Nu train ik ook toevallig bij een Gracie Barra gym.

Ik woon in Heesch man, een dorp naast Oss. Ik train zelf bij Lauzon Sports in Oss.
Remco Pardoel heeft zijn sportschool een aantal jaren geleden inderdaad verkocht en de sportschool heet voortaan VanBuelSports, daar trainen Senna vd Veerdonk en Daan Duijs nu dus onder Duane van Helvoirt.
Woon je tegenwoordig niet meer in Oss?

Ja Heesch ken ik ook wel, daar heb ik ook nog familie wonen. Grappig, kleine wereld is dat toch en las inderdaad dat Pardoel is overgenomen door VanBuelSports. Toen ik nog bij Pardoel judo deed was ik ook nog wel erg jong, tussen mijn 6e en 10e met veel plezier gedaan, daarna meer gefocust op kickboksen en (heb ook nog een tijd taekwondo en karate) en nu MMA. Momenteel woon ik in Eindhoven dus ook weer niet heel erg ver weg.
