I watched yesterday for the first time a PFL event and i found out that elbows are not allowed.
Isn't this a too big disadvantage for striking style fighters?

they usually ban elbows in tournaments because of cuts

floyd doesn't use elbows and he beat the best MMA striker of all time

I watched yesterday for the first time a UFC event and i found out that soccer kicks are not allowed.

Dude in all other organizations i think about elbows are allowed, it just seemed weird to me and i did wonder why they didn't.

Same reason kickboxing doesnt allow it, because getting a cut can be flukey as fuck. See Vitor vs. Couture

It is kind of new as usually it's just elbows on the ground that are not allowed, but for PFL you can't use elbows in any situation

You can, however, knee someone square in the face while standing if you wish

This rule makes no sense. So only people born with no arms can compete?

I think Bellator was that way, no elbows until the final

2 of the 3 biggest MMA organisations didn't use elbows: PRIDE FC and Strikeforce

They already have a lot of stoppages due to cuts...
