- Lady takes her little poodle into PetSmart for grooming.
- She is not allowed to stay and watch due to Covid-19 rules.
- So she popped into a nearby Walgreens and then returned to the PetSmart.
- When she was in the store, she heard someone in the grooming area call for the manager
- Shortly after the manager escorts the woman back to the grooming area where her poodle was lying limp
- She quickly picked up the poodle and took it outside, hoping the fresh air and rubbing the dog would revive her.
- Lady then rushes the poodle to a nearby Vet, who can't do anything.

- Lady then asks Manager of PetSmart what happened, and was told the dog fainted while getting its nails trimmed.

- Lady asks to see the surveillance video, and was shocked by what she saw.

“They had him tethered to a leash and tethered to the end of the grooming table. So his neck is being hyperextended in different directions,” she told KDKA. “He was hanging. He was hanging for over a minute. He was struggling and being tortured. They didn’t do anything, they just kept cutting his nails.”

Ross called Humane Animal Rescue after seeing the video, WTAE reported. Police said the video showed the dog “hanging by two leashes,” according to the outlet.

Anyone who shops at that disgrace of a store deserves to have their dog killed. As soon as they started promoting their new grooming service i absolutely knew this would be the result.

That being said, never patronize a groomer that won't let you be present or at least watch them work through a lobby window.

Never take your child to a pediatrician who tries to take them into a separate room without you.

Who knows. But I guarantee they didn't have the dog stretched out like some medieval torture device. Anything could have happened and since she couldn't get a vet to say that it they killed the dog, she went straight to the internet. It's Yahoo news for fucks sake. Its clickbait at best.
 
All chain pet stores are terrible. Take a walk through their fish tanks and look at how many dead, diseased, and under fed fish there are.

Yeah I thought the same thing. I've seen the grooming platforms they use and the dog is usually tethered loosely, it's just to hold him in place.

I'm having trouble imagining what she is describing.

She says the dog was hanging for a full minute and they just kept clipping it's nails. I can't imagine clipping a dog's nails while it's hanging.

So I think she must be exaggerating by using that word.

What I could see happening is if the dog was really fighting the groomer, maybe the groomer held her tight to clip her back nails without realizing she was pulling her away from the tether attachment point, thus making the leash tighter. Still a very negligent thing to do but at least it makes sense.

Clipping nails while a dog is literally hanging though, that's some comic book villain shit. I doubt that happened.

No knock on the lady, she obviously didn't know much better, but I'll be worm fodder before I take my dogs to have a giant chain of stores groom them. It's bad enough having to periodically leave them at a dog boarding place when I travel, I always pray they end up being ok and I only use word-of-mouth recommendations, but even that's a big risk....

It was all caught on CCTV. Can't make up a story when there is video evidence of it. The police have charged the workers, so that should tell you something.

How do you know what happened better than the people that watched the video?
Petsmart isnt denying her claims but somehow you know better than them too?
Police have charged 4 people with crimes based on what they saw on the video, I guess they havent heard about your guarantee yet
 
They need to release the video because some of this shit don't add up

Frankly, I'm surprised she was allowed by the store to see the video. Seems like a lot of places watch out for themselves and either make up a reason why you can't see it, or they destroy evidence.
 
I don't normally condone vigilante justice, but in cases like this my morals waver.
 
Probably did not like getting its nails cut. Not that what they did was OK, they should have told her they could not do it.
My buddy had a great Dane that would NEVER let you clip its nails. You had to take him to get him sedated. We tried by me pouncing on top of him and holding him down. Alls that did was make him angry (You wont like him when he is angry) and shook us off both like rag dolls, than sat back on his haunches and chuffed and doggie smiled at us.

Plus if they are not down to get clipped and struggle you could hit their quick, don't want that.
