For Yan, however, there appears to be a lack of clarity regarding the reason for his inclusion on the list.

Soon after his nation invaded Ukraine, the then-interim UFC bantamweight champion was quick to speak out against war. On his Instagram Story, Yan posted the two nations’ flags painted on two hands to form an image of a dove, which is a symbol of peace

Less than total compliance in precisely the prescribed way. He must be a bad evil Russia supporter.

Keep in mind, he is being censured by a nation that has told lies about missiles killing Polish citizens, with the lies seeming designed to get us close to a nuclear war situation by dragging NATO in under false pretenses. Yes they are the victims of deplorable Russian aggression, but Ukraine has made it pretty clear that they are exactly the corrupt nation everyone knew they were before the war (when we were still allowed to say it) and would tells lies that would see their allies burn to help their position.

Interesting especially if he did speak out against war on ig. Don't even see why a country in the midst of war bothers themselves with these meaningless things... focus on the task at hand rather than those individuals that support you or don't on social media...

Makes sense. Yan is good at sneaky illegal hits too.

<BC1>

Ps. Not fighter bashing. Don't be a p:eek::eek::eek::eek:.

Doesn't seem like the "sanctions" really amount to much. If you didn't have business ties to Ukraine already, this does nothing, and if you did,

Even my Ukrainian wife, whose parents' house has been bombed twice now, kind of finds it obnoxious when Ukrainians try to shoehorn it into everything. Petr Yan is not invading your country, Andrei Rublev is not invading your country, the Russian girl in the miss universe pageant isn't invading your country, Novak Djokovic's dad isn't invading your country or even Russia, but they were demanding an apology from Djokovic because his dad had a picture with people who supported the war. What kind of nazi shit is this where you start attacking people who didn't even do anything because you need to control their opinions and who they hang out with?

Next to meaningless, especially when you consider the state of this country whenever this war is over. Why would he care to travel there or start a bank account in Ukraine. Unless he already has family there or some type of business, this is empty

Low hanging fruit. It's clearly a mistake but I very much doubt they'll admit it. He's just some Russian MMA guy.

This is one of the dumbest takes. If you openly and actively represent a country then yes, you are involved in a war that this country is waging.
Anything other than strong opposition is going to be taken as an agreement, especially considering conscription that's pulling in seemingly random males at the moment.
Every Russian is the enemy, If they don't want to be seen as subhuman then they need to stop the war from the inside. Watch entire villages of males being conscribed and sent to the front as meat fodder and not as much as raising their voices. They are the invader and they all deserve the worst.

When Kim Jong Il died there were people who were executed for failing to show sufficient levels of grief at the public ceremonies. We are not that far off on things like the Ukraine war. If you are not literally foaming at the mouth with unalloyed support of Ukraine and hatred of all things Russian then you MUST be a Putin lover and unamerican.

This, just tell them to eat shit and shut up.
Seriously, we can agree that they are the victim of a Russian agression, but my god is them crying about any Russian born athlete, artist or other important person being allowed to do anyting annyoing. If they'd be just against people who openly support the war it would still be one thing, but they act like a bunch of clowns.

You do realize that Russia really leans on this falsehood that they will resort to nuclear weapons over this conflict?

It's absolutely ridiculous to think Russia would ever resort to nuclear weapons over this but they fucking love when westerners think they might.

People like Putin only respect shows of strength. They do not respond to normal civilized diplomacy.

And do you really think Ukraine become closer to Western nations is going to make it more corrupt or less corrupt over time? What about if it fell under control of a literal Mafia state like Russia?

Yes Ukraine is corrupt. That's a result of it's history. It's also why they had a huge uprising over the corruption. It's just fucking hilarious when people talk about corruption in Ukraine like Russia is a great example of a better alternative to the West.

Eh... yeah, I haven't seen any proof of his support for the war, so they need to chill off that. I'm team Ukraine, but no need to go overboard.
