Assuming responsibility is noble. Not because it corresponds with some petty humanistic ideal that seeks to pander to the weak by releasing them from their responsibilities but because it's one of many ways of asserting power. Responsibility implies ability, ability implies power. That's why strong people tend to take responsibility whenever possible. Failing in their assumed responsibilities will give birth to a sense of disappointment which will urge them to work harder towards expanding their power in order to take control of things which they previously had no control of. It is through that process that one's power grows, and that's the most important thing in this life.
