As someone who's been vocal in shitting on Perry mostly because of his trailer park promo game and for losing to Jouban, who I am a big fan of, I will eat a turd and state that I was impressed by his showing. Nothing too fancy, no deep technical prowess on display, but a solid will to bang and some decent movement before he gassed. Gets an 8.5/10 from a guy who wasn't a fan.

Ponzinibio, on the other hand - and by no means is this meant as shade on Perry - get's a 5. He was in far more danger against a guy who - ostensibly - posed less threat than some of his previous opponents, and looked very hittable and very crushable by anybody in top 5.

Tl;dngaf: Perry did well. Ponzinibio way worse than he should have. TS gets to, somewhat, eat a dick for trashing Perry.

It was a good performance for a talented banger. I'm still a fan.

Wtf? Ponzinibbio had Perry really hurt at least twice, Ponzinibbio never was in danger in that fight, not sure we saw the same if that's what you think, lol.

Thanks for the honesty, hasn't been much of that in the last 24 hours from the Perry fan haters.

No Platinum nut-hugger by a long shot, but homie came to throw down, and showed heart after getting knocked down.

Their faces at the end of the fight told the story no matter HOW much peepz may hate on the guy. He is a really fun scrapper who can fight.

Needs a ton of refinement, but he's only 26, so it will be fun to see what he can do.

It wasn't a FOX worthy matchup. UFC is way too desperate in trying to promote Perry to casuals. Their decision-making on which fighters get slapped on Fight Pass, and who on FS1 or PPV/Fox, is confusing. I hear the ratings were a flop too.

Perry failed his fans he failed the just bleed gods he choked he didn't pull the trigger he was hunting with no ammo

Ehh. Not gonna lie, he isn't my favorite by any means but he showed up well above what I expected and above what his ranking mandated. Good on him.

It's a good thing he's so young and has so much potential.....

Ponzinibio shoulda let the combos go when Perry was against the fence, honestly believe he coulda stopped it if he did but he was too cautious of the counter a lot of the time.

Perry looked better and had nice head movement but needs to focus on more than his right hand.

I thought Ponzi looked really off. Now, part of that could have been that Perry is a hard style to prepare for and he uses awkward tactics..... but I think Ponzi was also hurt.

And in the end he still beat Perry, who is still fun to watch but still overrated.

You're crazy. I looked forward to this fight more than rda vs lawler.

Perry is not overrated. He isn't even considered top 10. Clearly both him and ponz can beat a lot of top 10 guys who are on their way down.

:p I think it was a great fight for them to make. Come on man. Did you not hear a Perry chant in the first minute of that fight? The guy has fans. And it was a hell of a fight to watch. They keep putting on fights like this for Fox and I think everyone concerned will be happy.

Perry did impress me last night, especially his chin. He's not a big welterweight, and I think he would be a savage at 155lbs. I don't think he'd lose a lot of power, and if anything, his cardio might hold up a little better in the third and later rounds.

At 170, I think he's destined to have some exciting fights against strikers but I believe he will get controlled by, and loses to, the upper echelon at WW. At 155lbs, I legitimately think he could be a title contender, if not a champ. And this is coming from a (former) skeptic.

The casual FOX viewer doesn't care. They don't know any of these guys, least of all Perry.

This fight was horrible. Those guys should not even fight in the UFC

He beat two late replacements, a guy who was just torched by Taleb (Perry's best win), and a shot Ellenberger. His defeated-oppnents' combined since 2016 is 3-8.

He's a gatekeeper to the Top-15 unless he gets the Bisping treatment and also hops into some big fights as a replacement himself.
