Godofredo Pepey seems like the real deal and now he is training with Andre Dida and his new manager Julio Heller is the man that guided Shogun and Ninja for years including the PRIDE days.

Here is a snippet from the Pepey pre-fight interview:

PDG: What is your assessment of Felipe Arantes? What does he bring into this fight that gives him an advantage? and What gives you an advantage?

Godofredo Pepey: He is a Pro like me, has my respect and both of us are looking to capitalize on our respective chances in the UFC. I will be ready to fight whether it happens standing or on the ground. This a great chance to move up to another level in the UFC, this is my time now!

PDG: Back to fighting, what are your thoughts on Shogun and Ninja Rua?
Godofredo Pepey:

Shogun Rua: Great fighter, MMA legend, great heart.
Ninja Rua: PRIDE legend, faced so many challenges in his life, has my respect.

:D

I've got Arantes. I'm ok with Pepey, but he's kind of one dimensional and has super sloppy striking. Arantes just seems to have more of an upside.

Hopefully Arantes. From what I've seen of Pepey (Vs. Rony Jason, and at the weigh ins yesterday. Admittedly not much) I can't stand him.

Theres just something I'm not feeling about Pepey. His striking his incredibly sloppy and his hair...

In all seriousness, I am not a fan at all, and I think Arantes should take it by decision.

I was picking Arantes by decision too, he has good stand up, better than Pepey that's for sure but at the weight ins Arantes looked a bit off, maybe its just me but it seems Pepey is hungry for the win. Still going with Arantes but a bit worried

Picking Arantes here, really don't think much of Pepey at all.

Just watched the replay. Vicious GnP by the Brazilian cowboy.
