People's stupidity never ceases to amaze me...

Another instance in which having good intentions doesn't mean anything when you end up doing something retarded

I was thinking the same thing when I was reading this earlier.. The story that I read was talking about some nimrod that was gored by a bison trying to take a selfie with it in Yellowstone too.

Well, the tourists don't seem quite so stupid given that the park put the calf down because it had been abandoned by its herd.

Tourists turned out to be right here - even if it's a stupid practice to allow in general - and they were the calf's last chance at avoiding certain death.

Quit ruining the fun

Welp, fun's over here. Might as well put the pitchforks away.

And what were they planning to do with this calf they thought was cold and didn't know was sick? Take it home with them? Give it a sweater?

I'm pretty sure the people working there would have discovered this abandoned calf eventually.

Also, even if it "worked out" doesn't mean their decision was any less stupid. Results aren't always guaranteed which is why you go by the validity of the decision-making.

The people of eastern idaho are a special kind of stupid

Bison have killed people here in Catalina island they could of been torn to pieces if the larger bison were around.

In this instance, the calf was no worse off.

The tourists went renegade and broke a rule that, when adhered to in general, is best for people and buffaloes. But in this instance, they took the calf's chances of survival from 0% to something negligible and almost zero. If nothing else, the sick calf got a few minutes of warmth and interaction, which was presumably better than what it was experiencing in the days before the tourists encountered it.

Did anything good come of it? Not really.

Did any harm come of it? Not really.

Did the tourists read the buffalo calf's situation correctly? It turned out that they did.

Is it to late to maroon the assholes there?
