Jon Jones outranks GSP easily. More impressive resume. Fedor beats both because he fought in the heavyweight division. A division where it was literally a coin toss on who would win every time due to the striking power.

GSP's biggest win is BJ Penn who moved UP to fight GSP. Sherdog Facts

Well it's an opinion. GSP is certainly a legit option for GOAT. For me though being undefeated at HW for 10 years and never losing in his prime ever means Fedor is the GOAT.

His "first" loss was around age 32....

    What exactly was his prime?

Wait, dont answer because "prime" is arbitrary.

He had been fighting for like 12 years by then... on top of combat sambo...

You want to talk about Santa Claus and fantasy. Let's talk about p4p. Because that is the only universe where GSP is GOAT.

This is pretty obvious to those that look at the bigger picture. Pun intended.

Another thing I'd like to add is

Fedor vs Werdum was 1:09 long and Fedor seemingly just got caught by a high-level BJJ artist

But that's enough for you to decide that his prime is over

    A couple of year out.

Fedor achieved his biggest win, beating Cro Cop in August 2005.

GSP only won the belt in 2006 and lost to Serra in 2007.

GSP made his GOAT case from 2007-2009 whereas Fedor made his from 2003-2005 in my opinion.

That why prime is so stupid and it's only used to either discredit a fighter or boost accomplishments somehow

    There is never an in-between

    Thats why its horseshit

I watched Fedor get murdered by a Middleweight, and get pieced up by Maldonato. Hard pass from me on the GOAT status bro.

Fedor was out of prime before Werdum. Even against Arlovski and Rogers I would argue. He became a headhunter and had lost a step. It's all opinion based and Fedor is a credible option. He is the GOAT in the HW division.

One of the best tests for casualness is how impressed they are by Jon's "resume"

Jon's the most fun fighter to watch but he's doing his business in 205

Casuals love spectacle, so it's far easier to mint "stars" at LHW, but the talent pool is so embarrassingly shallow they once had to feed Jon two consecutive 185ers as "challengers" for the 205 belt

In fact 205 is so stupidly, abysmally shallow that twice within the last decade the challenger has been someone who was finished inside 2 rounds in their previous fight

In fact 205 is so laughably shallow that in only Jon's 2nd defense they had to feed him an opponent on a 1-2 skid with no wins over contenders in the previous 24 months

WW is and was far, far deeper, which is why the level of difficulty for GSP was significantly higher than what Jon has had to face

Gsp ran away from the sport in his prime (32) after getting a gift decision vs Hendricks who’s no longer in ufc.

At 32 fedor was 31-1 with his only loss being a tko due to cut.

    31-1 > 25-2

So we can't say prime Chuck would have beaten Tito a 3rd time? Because "prime is stupid"? Prime is just a word used to assess an individual's best form. It is used in all sports and walks of life. Prime Jennifer Anniston, prime MJ, prime Tiger Woods. Prime is a real thing. It's hard to say with certainty when it is for each individual but it has always been and will always be used to compare.

Ducked Silva, “took a break” once stricter drug tests came in, begged drug testers to know what he’d be tested for, finally came back to challenge one of the weakest champs 185 ever seen when he could have took on Woodley. Not GOAT material, too 3-5 for sure but not number one.
