Ok lets look at the situation objectively:
Cain fought JDS after a layoff of 13 months.
JDS had a knee injury and admitted that he went into the fight looking to take chances, in other words the overhand right he threw was a high risk high reward sitch, and IMO it doesn't land 9/10 times.
Cain is the better overall fighter, he has high caliber wrestling, good kickboxing and unstoppable ground and pound

I'm not saying Cain is going to completely outclass JDS, but I think this fight will be a lot more competitive than most people are letting on, Cain looked beast against Big Foot and is coming in motivated and hungry to reclaim his belt.

I'm going with Cain ground and pound in round 3.

    thoughts?

JDS is champion, people love champions.

If Cain wins, watch them switch.

    Bandwagoners.

As for the winner, I think JDS will win. I like both and don't really care who wins, I just want to see a great fight. Cain becoming a 2 time champion would be awesome, hasn't been one for a while.

I love that it's the layoff that made him lose and not his bad striking defense. These 2 can't fight soon enough..

JDS has great TDD, and pops back up like prime Chuck when he gets taken down. That said I'm not sold that if Cain takes him down he has some sort of magical ground game that's going to be able to withstand Cains ground and pound.

If Cains game plan is to make this an ugly fight, doesn't charge in with the stand up, avoids exchanging in the pocket, and is relentless with the take downs I think he has a great chance to win.

    Im picking Cain.

It's not that people aren't giving Cain a shot, it's just that some these Cain supporters act like he never got KTFO in his first fight against JDS.

I have to agree, I think it will be a way more competitive fight than what folks are saying on Sherdog. I still think JDS takes it though.

people forget easily and only retain the last fight they watched, Cain is easily one of the greatest HW fighters of all time, he is not the underdog, i think JDS and him are evenly matched but i give the stand up speed to Cain and he will win.

This is why I watch MMA, great match that can go either way. Cain is angry that he was humiliated last time and wants to prove he is number 1. JDS has great TDD and much better hands than Cain. Can JDS stop the take down, once down can he get up or submit Cain. Will Cains ground and pound be too much as it has been for everyone else or will JDS prove that it wasn't a fluke. There has been lots of complaints that title shots are giving to undeserving individuals, this is not one of them, can't wait.

Hopefully Cain actually tries to use his wrestling this time. Maybe mix in some leg kicks. Standing toe to toe was a bad idea, JDS is just on another level at striking.

Does he stand a chance? Of course. I think we'll see just how much of a chance pretty quickly.

I think Cain has an excellent chance to win this fight. The 1st fight, much like the first GSP-Serra, was just one of those things. He got caught early and didn't get to show his skills. I believe Cains wrestling will be a factor this time, but I'll still go with JDS in a real war this time.

Hmm go watch the Big nog and cain fight, and against a static opponent he gets tagged a fair bit and lands some decent combos, then watch the jds and cain fight, and u will see his standup is nowhere near as effective as Jds uses constant movement, add in Jds has heavy hands and if he keeps the correct distance and only uses his boxing Cain is going night night again.

Did you watch the first fight?your just asking him to do what he did last time,he shot on the only opportunity Junior gave him and tried to grab a leg, kicked his lead leg a few times,it was typical Cain he stood still as he always does when he is striking and was about to do some feints when jds landed a massive over hand right and he was out, cain looked like cain in that fight he just happened to fight someone who was as quick as him

I'm looking for a very competitve fight this time around and i think we'll also see what JDS brings to the table while fighting from his back as i reckon Cain will be able to get the takedown. I see JDS landing a good few shots but nothing like that one he hit Cain with in the first fight.

All in,I like both fighters and hope for an exciting fight above all else, but i'll be leaning a bit towards rooting for Cain and i also believe he will dethrone Junior and be the champ agian come next weekend.

my internets gay so message got deleted but heres main points
bigfoot fight had no standup in it
cains still not the striker jds is
for people like me who thought jds would win first anyways its hard to see it go any different but I hope cain lands atleast 1 takedown so everyone realizes how good jds is and we don't get the same repeated threads

Cain will be gun shy because he knows he can lose at a moments notice. The previous K.O. will have a psychological effect on him.
