You don't need a chin in grappling and sudden power is involved, so it's not the same. HW GP champ Reem gets KO'd all the time, but it's not like blue belts are getting fancy on the mat with a guy like Maia.

Slightly off topic, as I had to double check the outcome. I recall thinking Alan Belcher was going to become another victim of Palhares. When it hit the ground, I was sure Belcher was done for. Belcher ended up catching Palhares in that Banana Split submission attempt.

He didn't pull it off, but I thought it was an honourable mention.

good point. i distinctly remember Rogan yelling (at Belcher) "now get outta there!!" once they hit the ground. at the time, it was pretty much a forgone conclusion that Palhares would leg lock pretty much anyone
