Penn's butterfly guard

Can anyone who has that fight recorded break down Penn's butterfly guard transition? I only saw the first couple rounds and wasn't watching intently (alcohol, bar, girl :icon_chee), but as someone who plays butterfly guard and wants to try MMA I'd love to know what he was doing exactly.

If I remember correctly he was playing closed with a tight overhook, then feet-on-hips, sit-up, to butterfly...is that correct?

Ok just, rewatched...he didn't really "play" butterfly, just quickly sat up for a sweep a couple times and did a stand up at least once that I saw.

Still interesting to see some butterfly in MMA.
