Pennington - Holly Holm is not taking me seriously

Pennington, who meets Holm in the co-main event of UFC 184 on Saturday here at Staples Center, doesn't think Holm has done enough to earn her status as a title contender.

"Honestly, I think it's a bunch of crap, if you ask me," Pennington said Thursday at UFC 184 media day. "I think there's a lot of women in the UFC. We've worked our butts off to get where we're at and I don't see it being very fair that she can go from boxing into MMA where nobody has really known about her fights."

Pennington (5-4) also doesn't think Holm is taking the fight against her seriously.

"She was doing interviews and I feel like she was just looking completely past everything. She was definitely riding the hype train with it. She did some interviews where I don't even think she knew who she was fighting, it sounded like. She was calling me Jessica and then right away going on to a Ronda interview."

i only scanned the interview and missed the part where she said that it's not fair holm got into the ufc when others have been working their ass off for it. welll... pennington may have been training longer but she has only 2 more pro fights than holm and infact turned professional before 'here because of a tv show' rocky pennington

This is probably the worst match up Pennington can get. From what I've seen Holm is not at all looking past her, although even if she was this is just a terrible fight for Pennington IMO, shes all striking and shes fighting the best striker in the division by far.

What an idiot.....she only has 2 more fights then Holm does lol and with a 5-4 record with no marketability she should be happy she's even in the UFC. Holm has been very respectful in every aspect. Now I really really hope she gets KTFO
