I typed for about 20 minutes explaining the story and how I got to do it and who helped me but it got deleted. Long story short; I call BJ's academy many times, drive 2 hours, meet him, wear his gi, roll with his guys, get a picture, get a T-Shirt.

Picture with BJ (I look goofy as hell so no need to romoshop...)

Picture with brother Jay

I had a pic of his gi but it must have gotten deleted :icon_sad: It was an orange HCK...yes, orange. It was sick.

Yeah...I honestly thought BJ would be much bigger than that...it is amazing that he fights at 170. I'm just under 6 foot.

BJ is the man.

bro, please post up more pics for all of us! (ps-photobucket where its at). how was your trip to kona? where did you stay?

I stayed at Kona Village Resort. Honestly, I don't have many more pics...I have a few of my family but those will stay private. I love Hawaii though. Nice and sunny, met some nice people (including BJ) and had a bunch of fun.

glad to hear it man. i live on oahu, but if i had the chance, i would move to kona in a second. (waimea specifically). orange gi huh? how did bj look rolling with other guys? was charuto there? how nice is his facility?

Man that is awesome. BJ is probably my favorite fighter and one of my favorite BJJ guys. Experience of a lifetime if I ever had the chance.

good pics bro....i'll be there in 2 weeks time, permanently. I see you got a pic with Jay....that man is a beast on the ground. Did you go after the Rumble on the Rock or before? You must of been like "wtf?" when driving through Hilo to get to BJ's place at the old cracker factory. I've only been in there twice since they moved locations and i moved over to Nevada. I'm excited to go back.

By the time I got there, BJ had finished rolling so I didn't get to seem him roll or get to roll with him. I just found out that one of his guys is fighting Keisuke Andrew from my gym in a few weeks. Furthermore, BJ is doing a seminar while here, so I plan on going. Hopefully he will remember me. I doubt it, though.

His facility is pretty cool actually. You walk into a weight room (some fitness club) and go to the back wall. Open a door and below you (like a story and a half) is a cage and a ring. In the back, he has a big room for rolling. The facility itself isn't that great (not nice paint job or anything) but he had a cool setup and it looked like a very solid gym.

BJ is the man. July will be the test to see if he remembers me.

Y the round face?

j/k You're lucky, man! BJ is the shit!

lol^

Compared to BJ's huge melon, mine isn't that bad....at least I think so.

BJ was very cool. The guys who worked there went out of their way to help make sure he would be there when I was there (Jay called him for me, as did a lady at the front desk). When I got there, Jay called him over and he came over, shook my hand and invited me to sit down. We sat on the side of the mats and talked for about 5 minutes...he was asking me questions and stuff. He was a cool dude. Great experience.

That's pretty cool, man. So, you were just on vacation and called up to see if you could stop by and train?

Yup. A waitor at my hotel hooked me up with the number, encouraged me to go and I was on my way. They were totally cool having me there.
