I agree. It seems BJ is giving great thought in preparation for this fight. He brought out Ian McCall a few weeks ago and told him to use a lot of leg kicks, as Edgar employs a lot of leg kicks in his attacks.

Anyone have an idea of how mobile Cruz is these days?

Im not sure how healthy Dom is but even if Penn is just picking his brain, he has one of the best if not the best fight IQ in MMA today. I really hope Penn wins this time.

    BJ Penn is serious.
If he beats Edgar, I would love to see BJ against Jose Aldo. That fight would be sick. Imagine if BJ won that fight. GOAT hands down.

I think he truly retires after this fight win or lose.

Dunno quite honestly, he started training a few weeks ago. Some one who has a twitter account should ask him, I'd like to know too. Even if he's not 100% Like GrindingAnarchy said I'm sure Dom could give him great advice how to game plan against him, Cruz has a great analytical fighting mind.

Excellent move I agree. In addition to his own skills Cruz seems like one hell of an insightful coach.

Man if BJ beats Frankie after training with Cruz right after Dillashaw beat Barao by copying Cruz... man what a LEGEND Cruz will be.

    Without fighting even.

If he beats Edgar, he's got enough for 2-3 more fights. Depends if BJ still has the fire and the "motivation" for the fight game.

I think avenging the losses to Edgar is the only thing that motivates him right now. I doubt he really cares about getting beat on by Diaz or McDonald to want to get those fights back. We all know he likes to eat way to much to stay at 145.

I dunno if BJ can use the constant movement that Cruz and TJ employs, both are cardio machines and can move and feignt all day, BJ not so much. BJ needs to check leg kicks and mix up his stance, that plodding forward boxing stance is a ripe target and makes him too stationary.

Certainly possible. He does like to eat, but he's shown remarkable discipline thus far in regards to his diet. He's been close to 45 for over 6 months now, he's never let his weight get out of control since making the fight announcement.

Nooooo, get out of there, Cruz!

Cruz and Frankie need to stick together via being footwork wizards and two of my favorite fighters.

    Bring in who?

Oh, the guy who does the analysis sometimes with Chael and the guys.

I heard he had been a fighter a long time ago.

Don't believe the rumor much, though.
