There’s some tricky ones in there, because Tony Harrison seems to be a tricky opponent, but he just beat [Jermell Charlo]. And I think Julian Williams against Jarrett Hurd is the same kind of fight. People expect Hurd to come through, but Julian Williams is no cupcake picnic for any championship fighter. And I think Julian presents a certain kind of danger the way Tony Harrison presented a danger, in that he’s an unexpected danger. You run the risk of overlooking a guy like that," Malignaggi told CBS Sports.

Hurd should stop JRock if big Charlo could. Hurd a much better fighter than I initially had thought.

Unlike Jermell, Jarret throws too much and preassure too much matter how your fighting him. Jermell has just one gear and seems to go “Boom Boom let me feel myself” and repeat. Jarret does what he has to do to jump on you and his output is much higher than Jermell, while Jermell was being paused and thrown out of rhythm constantly by Harrison’s counters. Jarret in the other hand catched up to Harrison and stopped him. Although Harrison was on his A game that night with Charlo and definitely showed a much better and disciplined fighter versus him.

I like Williams. Don't see him figuring out Hurd's size and pressure though. Throwing fighters to the wolves is never something I've enjoyed and Williams has better promise and potential than to just be a highlight knockout but what do I know. Hope they pay him well and I hope he comes prepared to win because this is a tall order and Williams lacks the proper adversity outside his knockout loss to Charlo.

I like this fight from an entertainment standpoint. If JRock wants to shake gatekeeper status ... this is the one.

Should be a great scrap. Williams has been on a roll and Hurd is always exciting. Thank you Showtime!

I don't know if JRock has that clutch gene to get him out of tight spots. Hurd doesn't have one punch power, he just keeps bruising you. JRock looked good against Charlo until that counter uppercut.

I think safe money is on Hurd, though I am a fan of JRock, Hurd is riding his wave right now and I don't know if Julian is the guy to topple that.

Could be a good scrap. Can't see Hurd lose if he shows up at 100%.

I didn't like him at first because his style can look awkward but I've grown to like watching him more. Hopefully when Charlo/Harrison sort their shit out we can get the winner against Hurd. Or Hurd against Munguia but none of them seem to be in a rush for big fights.

I don't really think he has star potential, but his style should lead to some great fights. A Hurd/Canelo fight could be a lot of fun assuming Hurd really establishes himself as the top 54 (Hurd would get bludgeoned, but it would be fireworks). Hurd/Munguia would be amazing, as well (I think he'd beat Munguia).
