PBC draws record lows

What do you expect when the #73rd guy fights the #153rd ranked guy in the division?
Go put the #73rd guy in the UFC vs the #153 and I bet it would do the same, probably worse actually.

Everyone here will claim they watched it to push the "im boxings #1 fan" but that's bullshit.
You can love the sport of football and be a diehard fan, but no one is going to put on the Canadian football league cuz who gives a fuck.

Also got to point out the comparison to the UFC, is that the UFC has like 40 events a year with about 13 of those being ppvs. PBC had like over 50 cards last year, in less than a 9 month span? On top of the 20 or so HBO and Showtime cards, and then you got all the other little events like Trutv Friday Night KOs and all the Spanish channel boxing cards. That's a lot of boxing to watch. Just like Baseball and Basketball, people just simply don't watch every event, where as UFC events are on FS1 and FOX only a handful of times a year. FS1 has a good amount but FOX has like what 3-4 a year, if that?
Shit there was one month last year where PBC had like 9 events, with like 3-4 in the same week. I like having this amount of boxing but people who are viewing this as competition don't understand the differences that the UFC just isn't as big as boxing and would do terrible numbers if it tried to keep up with the amount of cards boxing puts out.

Those cards all have multiple broadcasts though. Like those ufc ppvs all have televised prelims that get ratings pbc cards with title fights on cable would love to get. It's also worse because not counting prelims and Bellator it gets beat by the guys they ain't putting on PPV, because they can sell them.

MMA fans actually will watch a lot of mma though. Like seven hours and ten fights worth multiple times a month. Most of the things you listed no one watches like this FS1 card.

Lower mma is also more highly regarded, which is why you will see PBC fighter of the year Keith Thurman lose on ESPN to FS1 mma prelims head to head or Spike holding world title fights with top P4P guys and getting beat by Bellator.

It's not like those fights are paid for because boxing is this big thing in America either, almost all are (or were now that they ran out of money) paid for time buys. There is HBO/Showtime but they barley have any fights the first half of this year. HBO at their peak had a 90 million budget and it's 30 this year.

People watch the prelims because its connected to a bigger event. For instance its called UFC 187 prelims to draw views, instead of UFC Saturday fights on FS1. Go ahead and name it that and watch the views drop.
Also preliminary numbers shouldn't count since its the same show just a different channel.

Thurman-Guerrero peaked at 4.2M
Better numbers than anything the UFC has done in years. What prelim show are you claiming beat that?

Starting late would be better for the Hispanic market, wouldn't it be? Supposedly that's what boxing promotions care most about, although I always thought that was overblown.

That was their first card so interest was high, they have dropped off significantly since then which is to be expected.
