This is not a troll. Most sports, not just martial arts, have a lineage that can be traced back to the training and development of Roman and Greek soldiers. Obvious ones include wrestling, running, and archery, but also most ball sports originated in Rome for soldiers to improve eye hand coordination before combat.
Boxing is no different. On a battlefield, wrestling your opponent when you are unarmed is not always ideal; there is use for training punches when dealing with multiple attackers. This fight will be a test to see if modern boxing is an accurate representation of ancient fisticuffs… or has it been so watered down through rules and regulations(glove size, no Lbows, lack of clinching) that the skills it teaches are no longer relevant to actual melee combat.
If an amateur like Artem can upset a world champ professional like Paulie, this is a condemnation of modern boxing. The skills modern boxing teaches have no real world application, this could very well kill boxing. Mark my words.
