Paulie Malignaggi vs. Juan Diaz is official 8/22

Stupid, stupid fool, Juan Diaz. Can't believe you took the bait.

Yeah this fight doesn't really make sense for him.

Naw , Paulie will end up out boxing Diaz and the baby bull doesn't have the power to scare Paulie, this is a man that survived 12 rounds with Miguel Cotto and could have gone the distance in the beatdown Hatton gave him had his corner not thrown in the towel. Diaz is not big enough to impose his will on paulie.

Only the general stepped up but he had teh dubz so we couldn't do it anyways. Sucks that Faber fucked his hand up, he was doing suprisingly ok with just elbows and slapping.

he had the right gameplan but sloppy right hands on hard heads=breakage.

brown needs to learn what a left hook is and what it can do for him.

the paulie argument.."but he got his ass kicked for 22 rounds combined and kept coming."

how many of those round did the metro win?

Also- Gurrero/Diaz? That fight is silly.

lol

What if they clashed heads and opened up cuts on each other?

HBO only only approved Valero, Reyes, Malignaggi, and Anthony Peterson. Valero was option one, but they were way off on money

Paulie passed on that fight at first because he was supposed to fight Mike Alvarado in Atlantic City June 27th, until Alvarado bitched out....Thank God Paulie still has this opportunity.

I was referring to fighting Juan in Houston. Paulie's orignal stance with HBO was that he was not going to fight Juan here. HBO upped the price so he took the fight.

Diaz by KO mid rounds.Paulie has no power and i really doubt Diaz will be overwhelmed with him fighting with one hand like he usually does.

I think Diaz wins 8-4 or 9-3. The crowd will be booing Paulie's boring style by the third round. This is going to be a very boring fight with Juan constantly coming forward and Paulie on his horse. What sucks is we really had good momentum here with Diaz/Katz and Diaz/JMM. Houston is a good place for boxing. This is going to be a real let down for fans.

This fight is going by decision. If Cotto and Hatton at their respective best and best weights can't drop him, what makes you think a guy who can't really punch at 135 can stop him at 140? Come on... Ridiculous!

This is actually an interesting fight. Not going to poo poo on it. I say Juan should be able to outwork him with his pressure, but Malignaggi if anything has speed and a jab and Juan Diaz is not the lightest on his feet (not even a good dasher like Hatton). Sound movement and a consistent jab should give Juan Diaz trouble. But like I said before, a guy without power is going against the tide. Harder for Malignaggi to win than it is for Juan Diaz. But I am not going to necessarily make Diaz the definitive favorite. Paulie is no elite, but he's not a bum either. He can hang in tough.

I just don't see this fight being entertaining at all. I am interested to see what Whitaker does with Paulie though. Their styles make this fight look terrible on paper. I hope I'm wrong though.

Malignaggi's going to do whatever he can to not get hit, like he normally does. This will mean 12 rounds Paulie throwing his jab while backing up and trying to avoid the ropes. I don't know how Diaz is going to handle that style, though. I think Paulie's quick enough to stay out of Diaz's reach for the most part. Then again, I can see Diaz landing a couple good shots early and taking Paulie out of the fight mentally. I actually think this is pretty close and is an interesting style match-up. The early pick is a decision by Diaz, but either way, this one should go to the cards.

Come on now. Hatton and Cotto couldn't stop him but Diaz will?

I say Diaz wins the early rounds big just like cotto and hatton did, and then paulie will right the ship but still lose a decision. I don't think he's going to do enough with that one hand to win against a volume guy of diaz's caliber.
