Paulie Malignaggi: I watch mma, they deserve more money!

One of the biggest names in boxing is giving props to MMA and paying respect while offering valuable insight and all you have to say is "never heard of him"?

No wonder boxing fans still regard MMA fans as worthless pieces of trash.

Believe it or not, people tend to live in other parts of the world than just Murica.
I haven't heard of him either, boxing is not televised here nor is it in other parts of Europe.

So apart from the Klitschko's, Pacquiao's and Mayweathers I haven't heard of a lot of boxers either

This guy isn't even close to being a top,top boxer...

His pay $1.125 million for the fight he had against broner on showtime I believe.

Is pathetic how most UFC fighters don't get close to that....

Exactly! People want to rag on Nick Diaz simply for asking for more money to fight and isn't even asking for half of what Malignaggi gets, while probably being a bigger draw.

What's even more pathetic is that the 500k per fight that Nick is asking for would probably make him the highest paid fighter in the UFC (before bonuses). That should really put things into perspective for you.

BTW, Paulie is the man and would easily out box everyone in the UFC's featherweight division and below. You MMA fans don't have to know who he is, but he gives great boxing commentary and analysis, so you're missing out on alot of great knowledge. If you don't know who he is, then its your loss.

Now I have alot of respect for Paulie. He understands.

Floyd Mayweather on the other hand disrespected MMA and I don't wonder why people hate him.

I like every combat sport out there. They all deserve respect, like Paulie said.

Floyd Mayweather on the other hand is a clown and it doesn't surprise me that people hate him.

Floyd's just mad he doesn't have the skills that an MMA fighter has.

In the great words of Nick Diaz, "Floyd Mayweather can't even stop a double-leg, I had to go to school to learn how to do that shit."

Exactly. If you havnt heard of pauli ur not a combat sports fan. Simple. Clearly a sad troll

So it's a bad thing to be an mma fan and not know who a boxer is because you don't watch boxing? I wouldn't call a boxing fan that doesn't know who Matt brown is a worthless piece of trash.

Well then you don't possess the obvious level of sophistication and that boxing fans do.

To further the point that mma fans are lacking. It's not uncommon for many major boxing events in vegas to be followed a major brawl in the casino.

Paulie is an mma fan and shares his thoughts on mma and wants to see mma fighters get paid more:

I'm going to have to agree with him.

Look at the fight on free tv Matt Brown vs Eric Silva..... that was a very entertaining fight to watch, and the fights before it were entertaining as well.....

compare that entertainment to.....

Mayweather vs Maidana..... Mayweather was guaranteed 32 MILLION and will probably get a similar amount from ppv buys on the backend. http://www.forbes.com/sites/kurtbad...day-for-floyd-mayweather-is-wishful-thinking/

Mayweather could make $70 MILLION on one fight after its all said and done

I personally don't think Mayweather is worth guaranteed $32 MILLION much less anything beyond that so im not saying Matt Brown should make $32 MILLION but he should've made at least $5 MILLION.

entertainment vs entertainment..... thats why we watch it and the knock outs and fights on the Matt Brown vs Eric Silva fight card was WAYYYYYY MORE ENTERTAINING than the boring ass 12 round boxing of hugging

.

He's worth what the market dictates. There are brilliant actors out there earning $8 an hour working at a coffee shop whilst talentless reality TV stars are earning millions. Unfortunately you aren't worth anything until society deems you worth something.

Of course whether the UFC promotes their fighters well enough is another story.

i hear what you're saying but this isn't the market at work..... thats how boxing got so corrupt and outrageous to begin with......

how the hell does anyone who watched the Mayweather fight last week say that he deserves $70 MILLION????? I bet if you did a poll it would be less than 5% of people that say Mayweather deserves $70 MILLION for that fight..... and the 5% that do are probably very big fans of his......

Matt Brown got paid more in bonuses than what his show AND win money combined.....

Matt Brown's bonus money was $100k.... combine that with his show/win money which is prbably somewhere around $50k and Matt Brown brings home $150k

------------------------

Floyd Mayweather = $32 MILLION to show / another $30+ MILLION in bonus = OVER $60 MILLION

Matt Brown = $150,000 TOTAL PAY WITH BONUS INCLUDED
--------------------------

$60,000,000 vs $150,000

this isn't the market, this is boxing overpaying to put on a show or they wont have shows and go bankrupt so they have to payout 80% of their income....... while UFC has a MONOPOLY so they only have to payout 5% of their income

.

.

$60,000,000 vs $150,000

YOU CANNOT TELL ME THIS IS THE MARKET AT WORK

FLOYD MADE 400 TIMES WHAT MATT BROWN MADE

400 MATT BROWN'S SHOULD NOT EQUAL 1 FLOYD FIGHT

Actually, Matt Brown is worth what Zuffa dictates.

Actually, Matt Brown is worth what Zuffa dictates.

Indeed. I thought we all learned, during this last crisis, that the market is not functioning properly And that the game is rigged...
People still believing in the invisible hand and trickle down effects are just ignorant zealots. Free market, my ass. Zuffa runs this alone.
